Fluence Spyders looked really great to me but the price was outta my reach. I think their designs look first rate but I know many small growers can't afford their products. I can see why they cost what they do and they dont seem to skimp anywhere its just not in my budget.

I saw my local grow shop unloading something like 300 of these out of a Ryder truck. Apparently some big shot grower went big with a commercial license and after 3 runs failed to make it so he bought them up at pennies on the dollar and resold them very quickly.....man, I was drooling when I saw them but he wanted to turn the whole batch not just one or two.

Hey Sixstring you were saying you use hlg lights so I looked at both and cost difference is about $200 more for hlg is that a better light than plc? I don’t want to cheap out then pay for it later.

there is a difference in the 2 lights and mostly it comes down to size of plants and grow style,plus any height limits you might have.the hlg 550 can be hung much closer to plants because the diodes are small and spread out very well.so this light is better for scrog type grows.the plc6.2 actually has more power being a true 600w and the fact it uses cobs at high power you will want 18 inches between the plants and light,but its throwing alot of power straight down at the plants ,because it uses lenses which i believe are about 90 deg you dont get alot of wasted light going sideways.so imo for tents the hlg550 is better and in open spaces the plc6.2 is better.if your loooking for pure efficiency the hlg550 is tops but only by fractions,still it has the best system efficacy of them all.and some of us led heads look at those numbers first.if ya did some research on my own grows im running mostly cree cob at 1050ma because its a good balance of power and eff and at less than half its rated power or test current it will last forever like this.i use a bunch of different currents on my builds but i just happen to prefer the low power setups.my new room may prove me wrong on this,time will tell

What fixture were you looking at from HLG. I can vouch for both PLC and HLG I have a PLC420 cob and 3 QB 260 XL from HLG.

8 qb 132s from hlg they were quite inexpensive at $ 133 for 4 of them. Just need to add the power cord.

Hey sixstring, I am thinking about the a q.v. 132 times 8 of them they are only $266 from Amazon total. Just need to add power source. How many and which Meanwell or HLG power source would you recommend? Thanks for taking time on this.

I bought 50pcs qb96 on a copper mcpcb for $8.6 a pop delivered to my door. Direct from chinks including meanwell drivers. It's probably gonna take amonth before they arrive but looking at those prices I can wait without any problems.

Man this is so new to me it is a different language altogether and I don’t even know if I speak English that well, lol. So for my grow I was looking at maybe half the size you ordered. So I would need to order the boards and then the heat sinks and the power for each board right?

I'll use 28 boards in a 4x4 with 2 hlg-320h-c1050b drivers. 14 boards per driver wired in series. That's gonna give max 640W from the wall. I'm mixing 2700K and 4000K 2:1 as I'm planning to veg for a week or two before I flip. Another 6 4000K boards are going into 2x3 veg box running of a hlg-120h-c1050b. 320's are gonna run at max power and max efficiency. For the flower room there will be 8 heatsinks 195mmx500mm (roughly 8"x20") each populated with 2 2700K and 1 4000K board. All sinks spaced out evenly for optimal coverage in a 2x4 pattern

Hey Toaster, I did go to alibaba and looked up the different boards. I am just afraid that I may mess something up in combining all these boards and power supplies. Would you have a cost effective recommendation for something that is truly just ready to go?

HLG QB 288 boards are produced in the USA now not sure on their other QB's. Still sounds like a good deal. Just have to be careful and avoid shady knock offs these days..
