Okay so I want to make some wax. Can I use Everclear as a solvent? Highest proof available of course. If i freezed shake/stems for 48hours+ as well as the Everclear. Would that be good? Also how long should the washes be. Ive read 3 minutes on some forums, 30 secs on others.. im really confused i dont wanna mess up since I have 30gs+ of material..

Also can I double boil to evaporate? I read on one site how using this method isnt safe for smoking, more of a "tincture" which is not what I wamma go for but if I must I guess I will.

Do NOT and I repeat NOT use iso or ethanol anywhere near an open flame. You can and most likely will blow your ass, house, moms kitchen up in flames.

Use a fan and or an electric gridde at the most to evap the etoh or iso. I never use heat, I only use a fan to evap.


Shake for 30 seconds
Immediately strain and drain
You can now winterize for better results
(See below)
Pour in glass dish
Put fan in front and evaporate contents.
May take 24+hrs
Scrape up and enjoy.

I always vac purge my scraping for peace of mind.

Winterizing
Put contents in a big mason jar in freezer for 24 hrs. Do NOT shake!
Place 2x unbleached coffee filters onto strainer. Pour contents into filters and filter. Filter contents, and pout I to glass dish. Evap as directed avove.

There are hundreds of threads with teks on this forum.

Okay so fan, no double boiling even with electric stove?

Also would this produce a tincture or wax? I heard RSO cant be smoked i could be wrong.

If I winterize (longer proccess it seems) how better of quality will I get? And when winterizing I just pour everclear into jar eith material in it, about a inch above the material or so and put in freezer for 24 hours? After that I use fan and evap for another 24 hours?

Also some forums have said to decarb first. Is this neccesary?

Always decarb after the extraction. How would you decarb liquid iso or etoh?

Also, everclear is loaded with sugars. Not that great for extracts. I found a much better product, cheaper, and more volume for your $ 153 proof diesel grain alcohol. Or if tour pockets are deep, I have a line on 200 proof ethanol. But it' $$.

Wait what? Decarb after I extract? Im so confused..
Im asking if, before I do anything, should I decarb the bud first? and everclear is all I can get.

Why would you decarb? Decarbing is just turning thca to thc through heat, so that it can be ingested without combustion.

Decarb must be done if any ingestion is involved. Evaping with low heat isn' gonna decarb it. Unless you heat for 10hrs or so. But then you HOPE you decarb it, or just butchered your extract into something not usable.

I like the 293* for 9 mins.

How much better quality will I get if I winterize by letting the everclear soak in the material in freezet for 24hours

me thnks this is the OP is on a different forum and a different handle? Same exact question. Not a problem..just instead of using google..op seems to taking the easier way..
