Hello,
I’m assuming there is no correct time to switch to 12-12 cycle from veg, correct? Or is there?
Meaning, 1 month or 2 or even 3.

Just plan for the stretch they make when you do switch. So plan on the plant doubling or tripling in size the first couple weeks of flowering. The more indica in the strain the less they stretch. The more sativa in the strain the more they stretch. Plan ahead and you’ll be fine. The more veg time the more yield.

Answed my question perfectly!
Thank you

And veg out your area to about 2/3 of full and what JWM2 said. You will bush out a bit on some strains etc. One or two grows and you will have a better feel for it.

I would make sure they are at least 8 weeks old, on the early side flowering. Plants need to have pre-flowers before you switch light cycle, or you can cause major stress.

You mean veg 8 weeks? I don't think i have ever done that unless something went wrong. And sogs are 2 weeks of veg and FLIP...

I have always vegged to my space. I use tents so they can get crammed up.

I am usually 4 to 6 weeks of veg and its ready to flip. But that was time and space related more than anything.

I will keep it in mind when i run the regs i got as freebies. And that is this year too. Thanks !

There are reasons to veg to maturity but plant stress is not one of them.

And not all plants show determinate preflowers. Maturity is noted when the nodes stop growing symetrically.

I have grown 5 oz dry plants 12/12 from seed and i recently posted a monster half pounder og kush x trainwreck that only vegged 2 weeks and final transplant was in 12/12.

I uausally veg till my space is filled to my liking, nalways leaving necessary space above plants for the stretch period in beginning of flowering.

You can induce flowering at anytime you wish with no ill effects from my experience. Its part of Mother Nature. Flowering is a great time for plants. That’s where the rubber meets the road and they get to strut their stuff.

Exactly. Not sure where he got that it would induce stress. Some flower from seed as opposed to using autoflowering seeds for the fact they can reveg and clone if they find a keeper. It saves space if nothing else.

I also uppot moments before they hit the flowering chamber. I don’t have enough vertical space to veg them in their flowering containers so in they go. They don’t usually skip a beat and I still have to train them to keep their vertical height in check so the buds don’t get too close to the lights. I’m in limited space mind you but you have to adapt to your grow space and environment to be successful.

Having them as healthy as possible going into flower is the key

For sure. Their entire life really is the key to getting great results and yields. As long as they are happy they’ll make sure you’re taken care of when the time comes :-)

Of course I agree but i would like to add that the best results I have had are from flawless veg period.

The breeder i use says even seedling problems can effect the flower cycle.

So many feel that as long as the problems are not showing anymore in veg the plant is fine for flowering. But it is important to remember deficiencies are there sometimes weeks before we see leaf damage.

That’s been my problem lately. Which is why I installed an RO system a couple days ago. The tap water was 350ppm and with way too much iron. So I was getting some lockouts from it. When I was using bottled water everything was fine, lush and green. But I can’t keep lugging bottles back and forth from the grocery store. Folks are starting to look at me wierd. Haha.

Lol. In michigan? Everyone knows what your up to.

I have a deep well and my water is always .3ec (150ppm). Too much iron and low on mag but the plants love it.

I am going to get a filter on the well to reduce the iron. It clogs our faucets too often and leaves stains eventually.

Also a couple ppm of sulfer eating bacteria. That dissipates quickly when poured but i still would like it filtered.

We drink bottled water until then.

Yeah I was collecting rain water in the fall and that shit was great. 7.0 ph and little to no ppm. But I don’t feel like collecting and melting snow. While your wife is shoveling tell her to put it into buckets and save it for me, haha! She’s gonna hate my guts ;-)
