Hey guys. I've prowled the forums for months. Decided to try my hand at hydro. First run ever. Everything is going great. Until today. I'm in my tent multiple times a day. I'm week 6 flower, hydro in hydroton. Running a bubbler in my pots, feed every 4 hours only on my light cycle. I run GH and recently started calmagic. I've always had my water between 5.5-6.5 and ec mid per GH instruction. I recently found my water shoot up for probably 4 feeds it was 1900ppm. Could this be nute burn? I need to fix this asap. Thanks for the help guys! Looking forward to being part of this community. I also included some of what I think are good pics

Most likely a little light burn, if able to dim them down a bit or let it ride you’ll be stripping the nutrients out soon anyhow.

Think we all push ppm’s Around that time anyhow with everything they’re being dosed with. If the entire leaf becomes brown and brittle in the next few days then I’d be concerned.

They look good, keep an eye on water levels and try to not helicopter parent too much.

Still thinking light burn? I just want to be sure, don't want to lose my ass. Thank you for your help and advice So far!

THE FASTEST WAY TO ANSWER THAT IS TO INCREASE THE DISTANCE BETWEEN YOUR LIGHT AND THIS LEAF BY SAY 6"

FYI WHY IS YOUR THREAD POSTED LIKE 5 TIMES?

Thanks guys! And I'm not sure, when I posted I didn't have service. I'll get them deleted! Thanks. So it sounds to me like I have nothing to worry about but light

I certainly am no expert, however I think you are good. I double dosed my last batch and took it up to 1800ppm when moving from them from the grow cabinet to the flower cabinet. Each of the next couple of days i removed 5 gal from the res and added 5 gal of top off water. This allowed me to bring the ppms down slowly without burning or shocking my plants. Keep in mind you probably want to convert my numbers to a percentage before you apply to your system. My flower cabinet res holds 35 gallons.

cheers

Well I sure hope you have your weeks off..my guess is more like wk.3...i wait from switch lights..then 7 day transaction...then I start counting flower wks....ok second look the tops do look older...you should keep a less is more approach with nutes...a more hydrated plant is healthier then a nute forced plant...I hardly ever go over 600-700 any more and that's 160 parts well water..i personally don't think you will get much more out of them plants this grow..

You know what, you're right. I have 6 weeks left, so yes week 3. What makes you think I'll have a lite grow? And what do you mean older?

1100-1200 is where I try to keep mine.

With 6 weeks left there’s plenty of room for growth and size. Next 3 weeks will definitely need to run like a well oiled machine.

Keep the water cold and the air circulated.

My water out of the filter is 40 degrees, stays cool the entire week. I have forced air intake from my cold basement, exhaust, an oscelating fan, and 2 9 in fans running from the ceiling. Also an ac+dehu unit. My ppm usually sits at about 1200 now. It usually spikes after I change my drum along with pH so my adjustments happen the very next morning usually 50-60 ml pH down for 27 gallons to drop it .7 ppm usually goes up about 100-200 so i add more balanced water. I like to get my pH down to 5.5 on fresh and let it rise over the week period.

Well...fwiw...only time my ph and ppm flux is when something is wrong...I let my plants drink like 20 gallons....and the pH and ppm really never change..the water just drops 3"...that means everything is in harmony.... your buds are small and plants don't look healthy because they are stressed...I use gh.one part..and hydro guard.thats it..500-600 ppm.6.0+ pH.pic is day 19..

And my friend your plants look small also.

Size depends on so many factors but a major one being stain and good genes. After that i just need to keep them hydrated and the air circulated.

Gorillas grow sparsely and look odd, skunks big and bushy taking over any real-estate they can get.

Are you doing daily topoff with just fresh plain ph ed water???? This is important as you need to allow fresh water topoff to keep your ppms in balance. As the water in the system/rez drops your salts/nute levels will rise. Your losing water from evaporation and you will be replacing this with fresh water . When your nutes evaporate only the water is going away which is leaving all the minerals/nutes behind , which will drive your ppms skyhigh depending on how much water is evaping daily..

I used to use a auto topoof system made for aquariums. Worked great and kept it simple. You can set it to topoff via a little float valve you stick in your rez.

Yes when ec is on the rise, water level is pretty low, thru the week I would say iadd about 5-7 gallons? I test my water every morning and night.

Get yourself a ppm meter. Test the ppm each day when you go to add back water. If the ppm is higher than the day before your plants are drinking more water than taking up nutrients and when you add back lower the nutes a bit.

If the ppm is the same add back with the same nute dosage as you have been. This is where you want to be.

If the ppm is lower your plants are asking for higher nutrient concentrations and up the ppm of your feeding a bit.

Let the plants tell you what they want

That was my issue then. Ppm would go up after the first feed when I changed my water so I would dilute with fresh pH water. So all I want to see is a steady down?

pH should drift up... If it's going down you probably have an issue. Most likely root health but can be other things

You want to try and get your ppm to stay the same each day. But this will change as the plant grows so don't get to over complicated with it

Ppm rising each day. Lower nutes a but.

Ppm same each day keep the same nute concentrations

Ppm falling plants want high ppm and nute concentrations

My pH goes up, usually I have to down it twice per water change. What I'm saying is my ppm should go down, that would show me the plants are eating not just drinking, correct?
