And plants and human biology are completely different anyway. There are few similarities.
The point I was making is a truth from my experience in life. Overcoming stress and adversity only makes you stronger. And this seems to be a similarity between people and plants.

Ok. I get your point. But i have beaten my body up pretty bad and it sure isnt stronger. And the injuries cause more problems over time.

But my mind is stronger from dealing with it.

My best yields and potency are always from the healthiest plants that had no issues or stalls from the beginning to harvest.

I do bend them during stretch to limit height and force the side branches to grow up to become tops. But they never stop growing during proper lst.

The knot is a reaction to the tissue damage, much like our bones grow back stronger after they have been broken. The belief that the larger knot facilitates any type of nutrient or potency process is untrue, as the knot, if it were true, couldn't move more stuff because of the narrow stem prior to and after the knot, like a blister on a hose. There was also the practice of putting a nail or spike thru the stem, which caused the same type of wound and knot. Basic Urban Canna-legend in my opinion. I don't feel that my plants have ever benefitted by intentional damage, other than light trimming or pruning for light penetration.
…. again, this is all in my opinion.
But theres no knot down stream or up stream of the created knot it doesn't make sense to me that one knot is gonna create more nutrient uptake. If you could create the whole stem into a knot them yes but this knot thing sounds more like hippy/bro/stoner science.

No. I strip the big leaves and hang cut branches to dry and then dry trim the bud leaves.

The old men out here in the woods hang whole 10 foot tall and bigger plants in the barn with the roots intact so as they told me “the thc will drip down from the roots and stems and fill the buds more”.

But theres no knot down stream or up stream of the created knot it doesn't make sense to me that one knot is gonna create more nutrient uptake. If you could create the whole stem into a knot them yes but this knot thing sounds more like hippy/bro/stoner science.
And let's not forget boiling the roots! They say it makes all the THC shoot right up into the buds! 🤭

I do what works for my situation. You should do the same. Everyone isn’t running the same setup. With all the cognitive dissonance these days people don’t believe it if the truth is looking them in the face. It’s truly becoming 1984.

Well now...by stressing, pinching, topping breaking...it doesnt stop growth, the plant diverts energy into fixing the injury in turn allows other parts of the plant to think they can become the dominant portion of the plant ie. super cropping...canabus is a resilient plant and at a certain point in veg they love to be beat up..Facts

I dont usually train seed plants in veg. That has never helped yield in my testing. I bend them during stretch while they are growing fastest in 12/12. Thats when i break the apical dominance.

For clones i do need to top some strains into a bush but this slows down veg and they certainly never yield more without longer veg.

Cognitive dissonance is what you are doing when you start comparing plants and people to make your point.

Diverting energy means a stoppage in growth.

I agree this is bro science, all the time you're setting your plant back I can get three healthy unstressed plants harvested in the time you can get 2

and even if you get slightly more using your Technique, and I don't think you do but let's just say you do, I'm still getting one whole extra harvest in because I'm not setting my plants back weeks or months

that's what I think we're saying here, at least I am, but as you & I both said above if it works for you, right! So you have at it brother! Best of

I feel that point was made with two comparable situations. One being a person the other a plant. Each using a technique to strengthen the subject by first breaking it down. To be honest it’s really not that uncommon of a technique. It’s used with many different situations. You seem to be intelligent, infact you’ve helped me out before with knowledge info. Somehow I feel bickering about things you do understand yet may disagree to a point is beneath you. I will leave this thread hoping the feedback I’ve given helps someone.

I have found stem splitting works best when I blood let 1/4pint into the opening. It congeals up over the hole and provides mr Jiu-Jitsu strength and healing factors. The growth explosion is amazing. I don’t often share this secret as people say it makes me sound crazy.

All of my plants this year got super cropped and I break the stocks nearly all the way down the stock as far as I can with my fingers.
It causes knuckles where I do this and my plants become much stronger throughout the stem. I also do this to try to prevent them from crawling over the fence. Even for some strains I can’t do it enough. I have some that are probably 13ft tall out there again. Way over the fence. This is my shorty. I beat the hell out of them when they are vegging. When they flower I let them go they don’t recover the same. I have for sure seen an increase in yield.
I let them go last year and didn’t do shit they where lanky and weak stems. This year I beefed them up by busting stocks, and topped them a lot. They are beasts! Grew faster and will out produce last years crop. So I disagree with the people disagreeing. Use this at the right time and it helps strengthen your plants. Hey what ever works for you . And for the folks saying it slows growth. That’s mainly an indoor philosophy. They recover wicked fast outside.

Wow, and I just about screamed when I saw a split stem due to weight. I made a bee line for the duck tape!! And here someone is doing it on purpose.....As a gardener besides weed growing, I would never purposefully spit a stem!

It’s a little different when your bud breaks from weight. This actually helps prevent that a bit. You do it while it’s vegging. I’ve taped plenty of buds hanging by threads though and they finished.

I am so afraid of what is to come.... the colas just started and already the branches are so heavy. I don't have a plan in place yet. Doing as I go.

I would get them staked up before heavy rain or you may lose a lot early. Built a
Small trellis out of anything you can. I’ve got some steaks and hemp rope wrapped around mine for now.

I agree indoor and outdoor is different. Limited light and time indoor.
