I'm new here just figuring out this site, I have a question regarding most soil, what would cause the soil to NOT dry out? Root rot ? Nute deficiency? My plants look stunted and weak

Continuing on that thought, learn to gauge the moisture of the top three inches of the plants soil by inserting your finger to the second knuckle, feeling for dampness, and if your finger comes out clean. To weigh the pot figuratively by lifting it, to asses the amount of moisture present...with the assumption, the pot has sufficient drainage...

What growing medium are you using? Some mixes retain a lot of water, and a small plant doesn't take much water at all. The growing containers don't usually dry out on their own, relying on the plants to take up the water. Thats why it is very important to make sure that the roots aren't drowning due to poor soil drainage. I use Promix HP, which is impossible to overwater unless you water it several times daily. Roots need O2 to thrive and if there is too much water in the medium, the O2 can't get into the root zone. Post some pictures and it will help to make the correct diagnosis and get you back up and running.

In potting soil in a 10”pot or bigger knuckle deep is not nearly enough in my opinion. Pot alarmingly light or 3/4 dry down the pot with a probe moisture meter is proper.

You keep saying pro mix cant be overwatered. It can easily be overwatered if a small plant is in a large pot.

Guess how I know? Lol

Welcome! Add 25 - 30% perlite, and only water when the pot is very light and nearly dry, post a picture Maybe it's something more

I use fox farm, it already has perlite, I changed the pot, adding some fresh soil hoping it wasnt root rot.

We use ffof too; we recommend you add 25 - 30% perlite to it for starters

it looks like calcium &/or phosphorous but you have other things going on too, over-watering, too much nutes that's causing whatever that condition is

When you get a over-watering and or some type of lockout condition like that everything affects everything else like a chain reaction and that's what you got going on, so can't simply say add more calcium for example, have to deal with the underlying issue

there's a list of questions here somewhere that I still can't find, if you can find it fill in all the info

if not list as much info as you can think of; how much you water, how often, PPM nutes, pH, runoff everything you can think of but best if you can find that checklist it's got to be on the introduction page I would think but I still can't find it?

I was only watering once a week ,I always put my finger in the soil to check first. I didnt water if it was moist, only used water,6.8 ph. (No nutes. I was under the impression that this soil had enough nutrients for at least a month.)
Sprayed with neem ,precautionary measure, just been having a difficult time diagnosing her

Yesterday I added 2ml cal/mag, 1ml phos, 5 ml fox farm food, .5 ml florilicious plus. Into a gallon of water,ph 6.8 only gave 16oz of mixture to plant. I lowered her a little ,temp is 77 humidity is low at 26%, add humidifier?
She in a tent in my basement, which isnt particularly chilly, my furnace leaks hot air,lol

Wait n see what happens in the next few days.

I would recommend you pH to 6.5 in Fox Farm soil. Also stick your finger in the hole in the bottom to test for dryness, you want almost dust coming out of it before you water again

So get 25 or 30% perlite in your mix going forward

I wouldn't feed and don't water in Little Bits like that, let that thing dry out like everybody recommended above

Fill up the same size pot as your growing in with the same medium and set it aside

when the Potted Plant feels the same weight as the dry set aside pot that is when you water, but not before!

The perlite helped ,tremendously!
