Is it time to flip to 12/12

Hello farmers , what do you think about flipping to 12/12 , is it time? Or should I wait more?

Hi haydar, is that mesh meant to hold your plants upright or did you have a "scrog" in mind ?
If you are doing scrog (screen of green) the you can add an additional week or two of growing and bend your stems in the screen to promote more budsites, there by creating more yield....

If you are just using the screen to seperate the stems and growth for more light penetration, thats a different story and you could be ready to flower now, depends on your height restrictions etc.... but they look like minium height now, you might want to give em another week,

I think would be fine now if you are anxious to get going , how old are they ? What strain ? Probably get a nice bush going, just might a little short in height, nothing wrong with that ....

I was lazy to do scrog but took your advice in another thread this is a mexican plant from sensiseeds , it's almost 2 months old , I have around 4 feet height restrain because my lights are fixed and I can move the pot up and down , I'm trying to keep it as short as possible because I have no idea how much it's going to stretch especially as it has sativa genes , this is my first grow.
In a week time I'll have to leave the plant unattended for a week ,so don't know if this is the best time to flip or should I wait 2 weeks to flip so I can be around to train the plant and tuck it under the screen?

Hmmm, i see the dilemma....so you have to decide now to flip, or wait, i think i would flip now and tuck in if they get too big, considering your 4 ft restrictions, you got a little stress factor going on there...
If you wait , that can work too, but they may get so big as to push you out of your height safety zone.....
Give me a min to think...

I would flower now , and that will give you a week to observe, do you have anyone who can tie them down for you at around day 15 of stretch if you are not home ?
Worst scenario , you come home, find the plants too tall ( i dont think they will stretch 4 ft) but sativa leaning mexican ? Who knows...
When you get home worst case scenario, you bend the shit out of em , even though it would be better to do that a few days before you get home, i think you will be ok....

it's all tied now as I used LST , I'll keep them tied under the screen , do they stretch that much in a single week??!

Hey H, well no it wont stretch out of control in the first week , but its a sativa and might stretch 4 times its size , so im just thinking of every and any precaution you can take just before you leave, tying them down now dosent mean much because no matter how low they are now, they will go into a flowering burst and defyall you effort....
Just thinking of everything you can do to tame them , it wont be good if they grow into the light
What kind of light are they under ?
First grow, with only 4 ft above and a sativa, thats going to be a scary ride !

Also, upon closer inspection, the plant dosent look too sativa, it looks like 70/30 ish or better in your favor, it looks like quite a bit indica in her so i really would not worry....

I'd give them another few days at least, maybe a week. They'll keep growing vertically the first couple weeks after you flip to 12/12

I didn't flip till now planning to flip in the next few days, this is the current plant , hope ScrOG is going well

It's growing in a mixture of homemade compost (sheep manure and grass cuttings with a little urea fert added) and garden soil , I fertilize once a week or each two weeks with 600 PPM 20-20-20 mixed with sea weed extract and humic acid , the fertilization is not regular as I'm counting on the soil mixture but now its too big that I started fertilizing once a week since 2 weeks , hope to get good harvest ,will keep you updated

She looks super happy! That nice even fertilizer mix with some seaweed/kelp is doing the trick! I wouldn't change a thing until you're at least 2-3 weeks into the 12/12 cycle.

I'm sure you'll get a nice harvest with some big fat nugs! I prefer to overgrow my scrog a little bit like yours. I'd definitely look into adding another layer of netting about 6-8 inches above your current net. She's going to be a beast! That'll prevent your big fat nugs from falling over eachother. Those big bushy tops are going to turn into come chunkers
