Maybe consider cutting one or two of these leaves to let the new shoots take center stage and grab more light.....

I did consider that earlier when I had them all out, but I don't have enough experience to lend me confidence to just do it. Thank you for the affirmation. I will do just that.

Thank you. :)

I'm curious about something that you may be able to help me with: If two plants are healthy, what would be a reason to not cross two breeds/strains (not sure of correct terminology)?

No reason not to cross

The only reason is if one of your plants is feminized
If that is the case , then there can be an increased chance that your seed stock will bear more " hermphrodite" seeds , which is a horrible thing
So most breeders will decide to produce only feminized seeds which result in the " same as mother" feminized seed....
Or they will produce "regular" seeds and f 1 which will give you a variety of phenotypes that can offer you greater choices for " keeper plants " that you prefer , and much more stable offspring with " hybrid vigor" and less chance of hermaphrodites....

But not all is lost , why dont you clone your male , save it for next run , and pollinate the sssd females you find , or better yet , hopefully you will have some females in this run (sssd) and you can do a mini one branch pollination and end up with a bunch of seeds .....
Just a thought

Why are hermaphrodites unfavorable? I know why it's legitimately unhealthy in the human population as the reproductive organs being in chaos can cause a multitude of health problems (not just the obvious ones).

It halts the production of sensimilla buds , buds without seeds , which pretty much goes against every growers goal ....

And a "surprise" pollination can cause a huge financial blow to growsers who expecting a cash crop....

f1 is first generation, yes?

I don't know where I read it, but if my biggest SSSD should be a male, couldn't I just put a bag over his head and collect the pollen? (Hahahaha! So many inappropriate jokes right now) . Do they just stay in continual pollination or does it go for a certain time period?

But, I want seeds. When I started smoking it a billion years ago, it had seeds. It's a pain in the ass, yes, but I can pick them out without too much of a fuss. I'm all for getting back to basics.
