Kim's Beginner Diary

This was my first grow....plant is in 1 gallon fabric pot. Technically, she can get away with the 1 gals but she will be feeding and watering a little more often then if they were in a 3-5 gallon. What strain is that plant ?

Honestly....I wouldn't worry about making seeds on your first run. Complete your grow....then prepare and apply it to your second grow. If you needs seeds, I can send you some if you want.

P S , after my discussion with k about pollinating , i kind of warmed up to it , so im going any way she wants.....
Not what i would do , but why not try ?

😀😀 Same overhere in northern europe. You lose your drivers licence for having it in your system, but you can marry your cousin and get away with rape charges becouse you cant present a witness =) =)

Ya know @khalt03 ….looking back when I first talked to you about that email, you were what only around 3k? You ended up hitting another 3k in like 2 weeks. Not even I think. Too bad you didn't get 10k total. Still in all...the 2000 will suit you perfectly.

Morning, Y'all!

Told you I was tired. I ran out of smoke and I'm not super keen on the is oil I made, it tastes horrendous and I'm going to have to figure that out. Why does no one mention how awful it tastes? I will say, it works great in tomato juice. I made a mock Bloody Mary, delicious with that awful stuff. Maybe I made it wrong or something, but there isn't anywhere I've read about how disgusting it is. I will survive.

I know y'all will think I'm crazy, but I'm going to do all of the above, a @dire wolf outlined up there. Here's why: I am not by any means terminal right this minute, but I am in a limbo space where appropriate treatment hasn't started yet. I'm naturally a rebel, I have been my whole life. If you tell me I can't do something, I will set out to prove you wrong. (You = not anyone in particular, just a generalization). Before I registered for this forum, my goal was to grow my own, as well as have seeds. I'm not a clone fan, it's just a personal theory of mine. I could check out of the earthly plane tomorrow, so I would like to at least leave something behind for my daughter, she has this disease, too, but her version is treatable.

In saying that, when I topped the plants the other, on pure chance, I stuck them in water, guess what's happening? Doesn't mean they will live, I will clone more, just because I want the experience. So, I will do that.

I am going to attempt the pollination techniques that @dire wolf suggested. I will follow @basscaptain's suggestion for flipping, it resonates well with me. :)

@SadBadGrower, I completely respect your caution and trepidation. In case I screw everything up, I think I should save at least one or two plants from the above just to have an assurance I will have something to smoke after all this, what do you think?

I'm still perplexed over that, but I'm just going with the flow. I'll figure it out later.

You can just pollinate the room, and let them do thieir thing ( im against that ) but its not my grow , its yours , so i can just make suggestions...

A suggestion can be , identify your female regular plannts - i think the gelato is reg ?
So you will use the gelato to make seed with his pollen , or recieve pollen if female

Take one -2 male sssd male pollen bearing plants , , keep them seperate ( not really necessary ) but they will make different genetics , take your left over sssd females and decide if you want to pollinate the entire plant ? I wouldent , or just pollinatd half or 1/4 of the plant...by dusting pollen on the 3 week old pistils....

You can use a good fine 1/4 or 1/8 inch brush , or even finer , or q tip to apply pollen ...

You will need to catch the pollen when male sacs open , use glass , tin foil , or parchment paper to collect or store the pollen , collect it in another room , and dont tie the plants down or secure them where you cant move them freely

If pollen sacs open when you disturb the plants by rocking or pushing them , the delicate flower will open and if your fan is on .....then everything is going to get seeded , probably even your neighbors grow down the road,

So the idea is timing is a little tricky , you either want to collect the pollen as it happens and store it , or you want to start your males a few days to a week later to begin flower stage , the males will develope faster than the females during the pollination , so you have to time it right,,,,,

If all this is giving you a headache , then just let mother nature take take iits course....

Ps i dont do the dark before flip or any other extra dark things at harvest....

NOT pollinating the room. I would like to try my hand at the Blue and SSSD. :)

So, I should probably get a light or two set outside of the tent for the boys, right? I don't want to take a chance on pollinating the entire tent. This means I have to black out the whole room, which shouldn't be hard. I guess I'm expanding ops, huh?

Not giving me a headache, my brain likes complicated, as long it doesn't require geometry.

it would be easy to hit them with the time change too......

Other wise it's going to be 2 more weeks by the time she gets the lights set and working and the plants set to them also......

she can use the extra time if she wants it.....
BUT she also Needs Flower to use I'm sure..... and were still talking 10 weeks plus now....... so I'm just thinking IfI was her and I was 13 weeks ago, I would Flip ASAP

I think they will be alright if I plant today. They are itching to get out of the pots as it is, I can just tell. It's why they are stunted, right?

It's because everyone's shit is sitting in storage unsold and farmers are losing their homes. They've told everyone if they process it, they will have a better shot at recovery. (Insert eye roll here) It's like someone has put a magic spell on these people, they WILL NOT listen to anyone else except their "leaders." Also, you, Sir, have apparently, never experienced living in the Bible belt. You are getting the full effect of ignorance, and I don't say that word with disdain. It's willful religious ignorance, if that makes sense. They use it to control people here.

Hey K , as you know , it took me a while to wrap my head around this seed journey , i think maybe after a week.... i began to think in another way about it, normally there is a learning curve and new growers accept the entry level tasks......
But right from the begining of the thread i saw something special

I mean honestly what caught my attention was the seed strain you were growing , although the following journey was more interesting...

So i now think , yea you must ! Do the seedmaking , i would be really dissapointed if you didnt , and it became clear to me early on that you are doing what you want to do .....

Making seed for me ,is just as ,if not more rewarding than making bud .
, And yea i think getting quality seed for all of us can be challenging...

The fact that you can get the males out of the room is going to be great !!
I was actually burning up my brain with thoughs of how i was going to assist you in flowering the male in the room , without pollinating the whole room .....it can " almost" be done , and i knew you were going to do what you want , so i was already figuring a plastic bag umbrella to secure the male /seperate from the girls in the same box , a sort of quarantine.....but now it will be so much easier....

You will be able to just brush on pollen , on certain areas that you choose , and leave the rrst to grow bud , thats advanced , weed growing skill , but gonna be easy .....

I did 18 yrs in Indiana...... So I do know the Bible belt.... but what there talking about is just Dumb......

You will only need the second room for around 3weeks , the male chamber , so after that you will be free to use the extra light for the remainder of the flower grow , not sure how its all going to work out because im not physically there , but you will figure it out....

Hey K now that i think of it , you will be starting floweer same time ,
Sativas male flower takes a little longer than indica , so stard diesels same time as the rest of the room , we will have to figure out the blue plant schedeule as it might flower a little faster.....
