I dont actually have access to seal meat. But, I'm glad you asked why I would eat it and not something more palatable.

As a society, we are concerned with climate more than ever. What goes hand and hand with climate and environment? Animals.

Since, as a society, we like to hunt species to extinction, why not get a head start on eating the seals. They are severely overpopulated, and easy targets, so it's a win win.

Grey seals are having an intensely negative effect on seaside life in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and especially Cape Cod. Many, including all shark charters and shark scientists, see these seals as a boon, and want to capitalize on it in any way the can. The scientists want the grants to keep flowing, and the charters want the cash. unfortunately, the chartering for striped bass and bluefish, will hit a low they have not seen since the 1980's, so they will now harass the sharks and show the people how great it is to have all these seals and sharks littering our beaches.

So you want to go on a seaside vacation, and bathe in the clear crisp waters of the Cape? Forget it. you'd be lucky to get a day or two out of the week when there were "no apparent sharks around", and not see a red flag. Then if you move to another beach, perhaps you will find the sluice of seal shit that pervades the shoreline on many of the most beautiful beaches in our country. Clear water turned brown:(

Very Sad, I say release fish, and eat seals.
