I started this grow bout a month ago and just want some overall advice and opinions on what I’m doing wrong and what I’m doing right. I’m growing in the Mohave desert just off the Colorado river so moisture is minimal.
Here’ is the current stage of my plants
Opinions and input plzzz

At the moment I have been issuing root stimulator and compost soil mix with crush shells and bones I scrounge up on walks. I am using well water so not sure what minerals and ph are and currently don’t have a way of checking. Haven’t had pests yet (aside the birds that ate my other plants). Not using pesticides that aren’t natural which is a bit painstaking but I believe it’s worth it in the long haul.(?)

Sounds like you are on the right track. I am not experienced with outside growing but ill add my 2 cents from what I've picked up here and there.

You are right to focus on pest control. Maybe keep a close eye under the leaves for signs of pests and address as needed. I think there is good options to put on top of the soil to make it less attractive to pests, like maybe desert sand. But I would wait for more experienced advice before following that theory.

I also think the full sun there may be a bit bright for them at that size. I could be wrong, but they might thrive sooner if they can get some shade during the brightest time of day.

I hope that helps! Best of luck.

So far I haven’t seen anything on the underside(fingers crossed) but been using granny method with coffee grounds in the soil and vintages water mix around the outside area. Might have to do a test batch with the dirt topped though 🤔
The next batch isn’t going to be an unkown batch as this one, have some pk seeds put away.

Same happy growing 🌱

Update:
Been having a bit of wind the last few days and it’s starting to take a toll on the developing stalks. I put in supports but doesn’t do much in terms of how strong the wind is also can’t relocate due to pests. ( The wind usually blows N-S & S-N)
Don’t have a lot of supplies at the moment and need ideas to help prevent permanent damage.? I’ll post pics shortly
