Great strains, but I'm going to bring it back to the base of a lot of todays strains, good old Skunk #1 or as us old people call it, the roadkill skunk. Haven't seen any since the 90's.

I remember that in Sydney back in the 80’s I had a few times I had a a mate that dealt it it was smooth as silk and dropped you on your ass that’s for sure . Od

3 strains from the 80's that really had a memorable high for me and my stoner buddies : Black Gungi, Jamaican Lambs Bread & Chocolate Thai. Nowadays I'd add GG#4, AK-47 & MK Ultra to that list. Great smoke that gave me memorable highs.

There was some Jack Herer clone that came around about the same time as the LVPK for us. It was quick (9-10 wks) went all sorts of purple and red. Frosty and was about the fruitiest thing I have grown. Was called the "cup" pheno or the "juicy fruit" pheno but who knows. Just good all around. Not crazy strong (think around 14% ish but high in CBD also) just damn good smoke that stuck out over the years in flav and appearance. As far as best all around I would go with that.

Yea, I've actually got a pretty good auto version of Ak47, and I think I've still got some of the original photoperiods setting around here somewhere.

My friend knew a guy who had this mystery purple cut. Unrivaled smoothness and flavor. Berry and jack flavors, loose buds that always burned perfectly evenly, you could take huge snappers without any harshness.

Never found out the lineage unfortunately. The guy stopped growing.

I would have to agree that maui wowie, and skunk makes top contenders for both overall flavor and smell, almost anything can be developed some various combinations of those basic elements. With breeding, I think, it's not about trying to reinvent the wheel. Just making a good approximations of existing cultivars, or maybe with a slight twist or unexpected improvement.

I've had plenty of that yes, and the black african also a few times. That blond hash was always great. I remember getting Thai sticks also, that would make you really stoned, almost hallucinate, but I don't know if it had some opium in it, or what. It was most certainly a different animal, than anything I've smoked now days.
