I purchase organic fruits and veggies because they don't spoil nearly as quickly as synthetic grown.
i admit i have not tested this but dont think its true.

Yup but seeing much less of that now also. Its true that a certain amount of organic material improves soil structure and quality but isnt crop rotation is far more important?

Yup all about big money... not to mention the consumer needs some blame here... how many ppl you know go to buy something and only look at the price for the most part... would say that a pretty big reason everything seems to be about the moneyLike always the small farmers being squeezed out always care for their land properly and the big ag fields with the gmo corn dont.

Like someone here said the other day, I've been smoking pot and eating at Mc Donalds since the 60's with more bugs, mold, pesticides, mouse shit & other crap in it and now I should go organic? A bit late in the day now to be worried about consuming organic anything.Yup all about big money... not to mention the consumer needs some blame here... how many ppl you know go to buy something and only look at the price for the most part... would say that a pretty big reason everything seems to be about the money
Hell noAre you trying to segway into a nice led discussion?
Something I saw about flushing...Like always the small farmers being squeezed out always care for their land properly and the big ag fields with the gmo corn dont.

I agree- 2 week flush of course you lose yield. For me, 1 week tops in soil- 2 days in hydro is plenty.he mentions no info on chlorophyl content at time of smoking which is the reason flushing was done commercially in the first place. To speed up the cure for faster sale. And my complaint is we dont know how much they fertilized. I feed light. Heavy feed reduces quality. If i “flushed” for 2 weeks my plants would yellow and die from lack of nutrients under the hps.
he makes good points. The test proves very little. My personal tests showed loss of yield and flavor and perceived potency in blind testing with any more then 1 week water only at the end. But like i said. My plants yellowed fast.
I agree... I like to see the report on the other compounds... I never agreed with the nutrient buildup as that's just not how plants work .. chlorophyll yes... starches and sugars yes.... I get that these things contain nutrients.... and this can be tested but still would like to see the other compounds... now some reasoning to my uneducated curiosity.... when we cure we don't change the nutrients in the plant but rather the makeup of the compounds as they oxidize and change... you won't have less nitrate or culture or calcium etc but you will have different compounds as a result of the cure... which we all know changes the flavor and smoothness... so if you ask me that study means nothing in my books as I never felt it was the nutrient levels and you cannot remove nutrients from a plant atleast not without harming it. however the makeup of the compounds may absolutely different and that may affect taste, smoothness etc. To boot I'm not at all about blind tests... I feel somehow even if not intended they are influenced... somehow even subtly by a facial expression not to mention everyone taste and smell is slightly different and what is pleasant to some may not be to others.he mentions no info on chlorophyl content at time of smoking which is the reason flushing was done commercially in the first place. Yeah I agree they cannot blanket state that... maybe 2 weeks in outdoor... but 2 week in hydro with 0 nutes and you have a dead plant.I agree- 2 week flush of course you lose yield. For me, 1 week tops in soil- 2 days in hydro is plenty.

Every situation is different. Strain and environment matter. But in my world, overcrowded plants need defoliating. Overfed plants need flushed.Right. There are too many variables grow to grow to decide a tool or technique we have is an either/or proposition.
So do we need to flush or defoliate or...
maybe?
Ok @RippedTorn I have to hand it to ya.... piss poor execution on the delivery... but you got the talks happening.
Credit where it's due
but 2 week in hydro with 0 nutes and you have a dead plant.
Pure RO? brother I need to get back in there and do some reading... been on catchup mode for a while now so I have been neglecting my usual threads I like to keep up on... even the grow diaries .I just did this "for science" over on the THCV thread. Do not recommend.
I knew nothing about flushing except for hearing one had to flush. For years flushing meant feed, water , water done. Then you fkers ( no offense ) taught me about trichomes & they should be cloudy & or some amber and threw a bit of a wrench into that and I had to buy more toys & now 8 weeks isn't a sure thing.Right.
