First grow! KushXL autos from Growers Choice

Well, just got done with some long needed garden husbandry today. Removed all dead or dying leaves on the floor of the tent and pot and in rivers branches. I did some super cropping to some of the taller flower sites as well. I did not tie them down just softened the stem and bent them over a little below canopy level. If they rise back up from the torture I’ll keep doing it daily or until I’m sick of it and tie them down. I also tied back some of the outer branches to the sides of the tent to open up some room and allow more light to the lower flower sites.

I did notice I have some water on the floor of the tent. I don’t think I blocked off Claras old line well enough after I removed her. It was to difficult to undo it and bypass it. So I added a little clamp to clamp it off and hopefully that takes care of the leak. I did dry out the bottom of the tent with some towels etc.

I have my larf in one paper paper bag and the other cuttings/trimmings in another drying seperatly from river. So I gave them thier daily little tossle about to get them to not mold and dry evenly. I am hoping to get a little hash or some other concentrate from them when they are dry.

Day 80?: Good morning good people of earth and beyond. I bring greetings and salutations and news of the garden. Actually not a lot to report from yesterday. Now that all my husbandry was done and a new reservoir was filled up. With one plant it should be mostly autopilot for the next week or my reservoir needs love .

River is plugging along. She now has plenty of light to the lower flower sites and I am hoping and expecting them to now be able to bulk up and put on some weight as well. She was all tied up in a bunch before to make sure she didn’t over shadow Clara, so she got little to no light past the very top canopy. I’m hoping to see some major growth in the next few days if it is going to happen. She really seems to like the Advanced Nutrients I am giving her thought I might even up the EC next top off or reservoir refill. I feel everything is dialed in and I am running CO2 so I should be able to push her a bit under all that heat and light. I am now not sure she will have a bigger harvest than Clara. I think it will be close to the same unless she buys on some weight on the lower sites now. Alas whoa is me…

My reservoir PH’d at 6.23 this morning after a few days starting at 6.1. I knocked it back to 6.0 for now River seems to like it there so far. I also added in some H2O2 this morning for giggles.

I might actually be able to get some renovations done around the house who knows it’s a lot of freedom all at once! Today I think I am going to go find a whiskey bar and do nothing.

Day 82: So I skipped an update yesterday and will probably not do many daily updates. As I am seeming to be pretty hands off now that River has the entire tent and everything is on autopilot until harvest time. I don’t even have to really check on the reservoir with advanced nutrients only to make sure it is not empty.

River is doing well still adding more white pistils everyday and lower flowers are starting to gain some weight. Still not as frosty as Clara was but slowly adding some trichomes everyday. I think she has at least 2-3 weeks left no need to rush this one.

So one exciting thing from yesterday. After checking my dry tent I noticed a few of the lower buds are dry enough to trim and maybe smoke. So I took about a gram size bud trimmed her up and smoke it! It was actually really smooth smoking and fairly potent even before cure. It was an almost peppery taste with a bit of orange on the exhale. Gave a good mellow high.

All in all it was a good day. I can’t wait until I get to chop the last plant!

Yeah I think if this cure in the grove bags goes well it is going to be lit. My moisture detector for wood is being delivered some time today so I can test the big buds before I start my sweating process. And then just a short 3-4 weeks after that right. Lol. All this waiting in this game is going to kill me I swear.

P.S. Clara was never flushed at all either, so it will be interesting to see what difference if at all that makes between the two plants.

Yeah, I was on their site earlier this week and noticed they now have those strain specific bags, that is super fun and cool. I’ve been storing all my hash coins and stuff in them as well. I hope they work as advertised. I did but some really early cutting in a smal 1/8 bag almost 3 weeks ago I should crack that open today and check how it smells and all that.

Day 83: trimmed up and started curing Clara today. At the end of it all I got 92g of flower and 44g of larf and sugar leaves. Not to bad for my first harvest ever, even if I do say so myself. I put the flower in a 1/4 lb grove bag for curing. I did through in a hygrometer in the bag just to see if it does what it claims.

No real update on River she is still on autopilot. The lower buds are growing nicely now and should help with yield quit well when we come to that point.

The hygrometer says 50% but I had just put it in the bag. I will check on it in a few hours or so.

Ha! I’m glad I can guinea pig for ya! The trim bin worked well I think. It came with a bunch of extras, like two pairs of garden shears a static brush etc. Not super top quality gear but it did its job fairly well. A bit deeper side wall might be a better feature in the future. I felt the grove bags were hard to fill without jamming the buds in especially bigger buds I didn’t want to take apart. It felt like i was really cramming 3oz into a bag that should hold 4. I have not checked the humidity on the bag this morning l, but last I did last check it had creeped to 52 last night.

Day 84: Again unfortunately not a ton to update on the daily at this time. River is adding new white pistils daily and seems like she wants to flower for the rest of eternity. the main buds are not super big except for the two I super cropped, however, the lower buds are really starting to fatten up and catch up to the tops finally. I feel she will produce about the same as Clara at this point if not maybe an ounce more. Time will tell though I guess.

I did refill my reservoir last night with 12g of nutrients. That should put back on auto pilot for the next week or so. I am still using the advanced nutrients. I am predicting two more weeks until I flush her. I think I will start with a full week flush and extend it if needed or I want to.

Checked my grove bag with the 3oz I just put in it and it is up to 56% humidity so it is slowly coming to an equilibrium it seems like. I will keep an eye on it and report back .

So did some arts and craft this afternoon while I wait until my next run. A little utilitarian, a little punk rock, a little bit bondage, and a little bit of usefulness… I put in 1/4 inch grommets around one of my 5 gallon fabric pots. This should be really handy when I need to LST.

Huge thumbs up on the job you did there. I was pretty close to purchasing a cheap grommet press for my bags but settled on the paper clamps for my first grow. That's a great step up for the next grow, so if I end up doing something similar it was totally my idea first.

Day 85: Today is the last Day of week 11 and I believe the end of week 4 flower for River? Could be 5 not sure.

Still not a lot to report as I am still just letting everything ride on autopilot. I hope it goes better than Tesla’s self driving cars. Finally got a pic of one of Rivers lower buds that are starting to take off. I am thinking if they are still going by the time the tops are done I am going to try a partial harvest. However that means I can’t do a proper flush. What’s more important a proper flush that has a lot of debate around it as to its usefulness or a good yield of properly ripened flower? Either way the toos still have a good 2 weeks before I have to make a decision.

Of course I keep changing my mind on what to run next. Here are my picks to narrow down for the next run. I did decide I am not going to run photos but I do have a few photo strain to pick from.

Day 86: On MFing autopilot y’all!!! Starting to notice some fox tailing and some purple color coming on some flowers today. And who says you can’t have a 450w light 6 inches from the plants and 70% intensity. Muahahaha… Other than that MFing autopilot!
