Ok I use Feminizes Seed so no problem.

Just curious how they tell the sex of the seed?

Nobody can tell by looking. Plant it and wait till it starts to flower. Fem seeds are known because both parents are female.
I thought they added a substance to the feed to make them react and create only feminized seeds. I use to think they hermed it, or stressed it.. But now I guess I'm more confused.

It depends a bit on the breeder. If the seeds are tested, grown and stressed to see if they herm, the seeds are pretty safe, but I would still watch them for popping balls or nanners, just like any other plant.

Heres some Bro science for regular seeds, the females are more symmetrical, the males are narrower on one end😎
LOL someone needs to start a diary and put that to the test. Any volunteers?

I paid attention to it last spring, ended up with 5 males out of 30.
Still bro science since you might have got that anyways. Need to random pick 10 or 20 seeds. Look at each one and guess M or F and label them. Then wait and see how many you get right. More than 75% correct guess would raise brows for sure. Gotta take pics and document.

I've been taught to look at the nodes and if they are thicker at the meristem it should be female. Some plants which I can't see this thickness usually are males. The females need this thickness to support the colas they produce. SS

Supposedly if the part of the seed that detaches from the plant is a perfect circle and kinda like a crater then it's female, if the detached part is odd shape and smooth or sticks out in the middle then it's Male. Supposedly. Lol I dunno if it's legit or not, I've only popped like 4 seeds total in my life but all were female and all had the crater. I'll try more soon, wish me luck!
