Hello guys! im not one really to post much on a forum, anyhow i could rly use some help!
My pH and ppm keep rising! I know im not losing water and i cant figure out whats up, i have some ideas but im not positive on a solution so any advice is much appreciated:)
this is my second grow,
im using sensi grow a& b with House & Garden Roots excelurator,
ive noticed some orange spongy flakes and ive tried adding some dr zymes into the rez but it hasn’t seemed to do much,
Help both ph and ppm rise
Help both ph and ppm rise 2

Ppm rising means your overfeeding. You should be at 200 ppm for those seedlings. Dump 3/4 of your solution and add just water. Red stems will show this also. You want light green stems. Also ph rising is a good thing. Your plants are eating at least.

Also turn ur light up a tad.. They stretching to much.

Thank you for ignoring the fallen calendar,

and allow me to elaborate the graph the red mark is my ph down pump detecting the pH at 6.6 and dosing down a 2ml, which then brought it down but as you can see it then continues to rise again
Okay, thank you! Im just concerned because this is week 5, i start with ro water and have been following advanced nutrients calculator, dividing the nutrients suggested by half already, when i mix im at about 700, and it becomes unstable as the week continues..

will listen to your suggestion and remix at ~200ppm

So 200 for now, once it drops down to 150 increase it up to 250... Then when it drops to 150 increase it to 300, should be a week or so from now. I try to stay under 500ppm for big vegging plants. Flowering is different due to additives but still like to keep it around 600 700 max. Your ppms should slowly fall and never ever rise. So if you do get it down to 200 you might want to add some of that solution u took out. Just store it in a light proof container and use that 600ppm to raise your levels if you know what I Mean. No need to manually add nutrients to your res. Always mix it separate at a higher ppm and add in. If you add strait to ur res and it's full, if your ppms are to high you have no way to dilute.

For hydro keep your ph at 5.6 let it drift up to 5. 9 and ph down it to 5.6.. And. So on.. Once you see the ph lowering, you need to add feed or change your res depending how long it's been for your res change.

Also cover those netpots. Pebbles are shit at stopping the light that can promote root rot.

I didn't even see that.. Damnnnnnnnn son. Figured this was like two weeks. They must have shrank on him lol

So to the OP... Can we see the roots and inside the res?
lol yes, degrew the plants.

What if someone is so high, they read all this but don't get to this part where I mention a plant can't degrow. It's sad I have to mention that lol..
lmao, put it in the washer and used hot instead of cold, and it fuckin shrunk.

forgive my inexperience I only have one grow under my belt.
so far thats how these seeds have acted, really slow, its also been more cold than usual at my home recently, during my last grow i hadnt seen sex until month 3. but thats my fault im guessing...
The orange stuff comes off by hand it doesnt look like root rot that ive dealt with before, kinda smells like algae

hey @tait, welcome to THC. Don't listen to some of these jabronis. you are doing alot better than some of them.

I like what you've done with your tote. I had the same one but only one plant in there. I guess eventually you will have to build one for each of those plants. Its fine when their small but when they grow you don't want to have rootbounds and plants fighting each other for nutrients.
@tobh gave you a really good graph and i use it. I don't know much about your nutrients but i can tell you that you want to be around 350ppm or 0.5ec

when you say the plants are 5 weeks are you counting from sprouting day or germination day?
What are the light height at and intensity? temps and humidity?
tell me about the products you use and in the order you use them. (im sure @Dirtbag wont mind helping with this :p However, you should be following a schedule)
What is your water resource ph and ec?
Also, upload a picture of your tent so i can see everything in it.
finally explain that graph with your ph and what not so i can follow it next time you upload it. I don't use this fancy stuff just cuz i rather check on my plants, but i hope its setup correctly and calibrated?

Based upon the pictures and your testimony, you have root rot. You shouldn't be pulling slime cakes off your roots.

There are two types of hydro systems. Live and sterile. Your going to have to pick one. I recommend live, meaning you use a living organism to eat the root rot. Sterile means you use chemicle to destroy the cell walls of all of bacteria and fungus. Two totally different systems. As for your enzymes u don't really need them for veg. I don't run them anymore and my shit grows fast. I feel the more stuff you add to the res the higher your chances of forming balls of gunk.

Keep your room at a minimum of 77f with the lights on. Cold rooms will also slow the growth.

But for 5 weeks being this big, your going to have to change something. I would buy hydroguard.. And study live systems. You can venture down the sterile path if you want, I just can't help you there, I fix live systems.

damn dog thank you for the love even though im a stranger that means a hell of a lot.
definitely listening to recommendation, waiting for ro (from garden hose) to fill my water jugs rn to remix rez.

your questions in order:

Im counting week 5 from germination day i suppose ive been negligent to remember that myself. i germed them on a monday and they were put in root riots wednesday and planted that sunday.
My light is an hlg 300l (blue spectrum for veg) the light is on 8/10 dimness at the moment... and i dont really have a lux meter so im not to sure what the actual ppfd or lux is, gonna buy the photone app subscription because it seems to get pretty good reviews...
The light is 4’6” away from the yellow of the lid

My temps and humidity have been quite shite because of all the rain socal is having, my insulation is keeping my shed above 60° and im adding an oscillating heater some mornings when its 45 out to make sure they stay somewhat toasty

I use Advanced Nutrients sensi grow A+B
and
House and Garden Roots Excelurator “gold” (I know its a rather heavily pricey liquid but i got a cracked bottle for free from the hydroponic store)

the order their dosed in:
the sensi grow a+b bottle basically says 1ml per litre given i use 10 gallons to measure my water the conversion came to 37.854 liters (round to 38) and divide it in half to add 19ml of grow
and excelurator says 1.1ml per gallon, i dont divide that for a chance of larger root growth although im learning thats just a sacrifice of ppm

my water resource is initially ppm’d at around 900 and ph at 7 i then send it thru an ro filter mix my nutes and wait a day before letting my
program start to dose down.

the graph i use, is a free software for the Raspberry pi (or any linux OS) that allows you to collect multiple measurements (tailored towards farming use) and display them over the internet or how you see fit, more than that it also runs scripts to measure my pH and dose up or down accordingly.
all sensors come from atlasscientific.com

the graph is the past 24 hours the two measurements are synced horizontally sounds kinda confusing, but it shrinks the numbers on the left to fit within three lines and if you see they are color marked

if you would like to check out what it fully is the software, Mycodo, was developed by a guy named Kyle Gabriel, you can find his setup on youtube here

If enzymes aren’t supposed to be in the mix for veg, what would you recommend i be adding instead to keep beneficial bacteria, i havent studied what are good bacterias to keep and how

depending where you are from, i use Z7 or Z9 for enzyme throughout the grow.
I think your ec/ppm is too high for the stage of your seedlings. Add some water to mix so it drops the nutrient levels. You want to be at 0.5ec 450/500pmm
also turn the intensity of the light down and if you can't than raise the light.

Thank you, heading all advice...

i letterly used mega crop two parts nutrients, Z7 for enzyme since im in canada, and ph my water to 5.5/5..7
no slime, root rot or any problem in rez, roots looked nice and white. maybe a bit on the higher cost but it allowed me to just focus on learning the plant
