I'm so scared of adding a float valve. I really need to on both of my systems. I'm just dont know which ones are good, yet cheap. I imagine I'd need a metal one just incase. My floor is carpet and insulated. I gotta be extra careful. Any suggestions?
I just bought a standard one, but not a cheapy, sadly it's non adjustable, but i can easily fix that, just make sure you have it set to the right level which is easy.

Dummy fit your net pot where you know it's going to sit, aim your valve around an inch below that and your good to go, it will keep every single bucket/tote at exactly the same level.

How you think i felt when i built mine, i was like "Fuck i hope this works"🤓

It's easier than you think, once you've done it you'll be kicking yourself you didn't do it earlier.

I've noticed this system deals with higher water temps really well also, but i have massive aeration from the pump and a rapid cycle, so I'm getting away without a chiller for now which is great...but i want one soon.

You want plastic nothing metal.

So this isn't really undercurrent. It's top feed. Most under current systems insert the water down below. My system top feeds and creates waterfalls, called Fallponics. They are pretty similar yet I feel top feeding would mix better and the waterfall adds surface agitation which helps raise 02 levels. My water column should have more consistent 02 levels than most systems imo.
I LOVE waterfalls, but sadly my pump doesn't have the power to push the water uphill and then fill the manifolds, so i had to remove them all and use airstones which personally i don't like...but running them in a tent is ok and i can't hear it which is great. Last time i used an air pump i was living in an apartment and yeah didn't sound good but i was trying to clone with one not grow, this is the very first time i have grown rdwc with airstones, but so far so good plants are happy AF.

I have always grown top feed and used diy waterfall manifolds until now, seems more natural of course, but under current has simply blown me away and shows you just how much plants can actually drink..and my plants aren't the size they would normally be.

When pump is full power...well you can see the air it has from all the movement, plants are loving it so she's pushing a lot of oxygen through the buckets.
Every 3-4 days i used stabilized oxygen also which is neutral pH.

Yea I was thinking about adding stones or something like that possibly to my res. Right now it just pumps to my waterfalls and has no airstones. The water looks stagnant but clear with no floating or sinking mass. I guess if I made it like my flower buckets or what you did it should do nothing but help. But I wonder about the higher o2 levels in the res promoting gunk build up since it gets light now and then when I open it. Idk if my thoughts are ass backwards or not. But I have no buildup lol, let alone want to crate it and push it to my roots. Perhaps I am crazy.. Let's all hope so

Looking good @Cashmeh

Watch out for the stretch of that GSC! Those girls have some legs!! Got a few in flower and I had to get creative to hold them down.

I was gonna throw in a second scrog. But im just using extra silica instead. It looks to difficult to get in there lol.. I'll prolly regret it but trial and error. You would think one scrog would be enough lol..

I installed a 2nd layer in all my flower systems. Had to make an arm extender so I could reach all of them on the second layer but I'm thinking it was worth it

So all the clones lived, I know it's been like 3 weeks on them, but imma call them 2 weeks behind what I would have had if I started from seed. So it's cool, and I'm going to run these same 6 again, no biggie.

As for the flower room, it speaks for itself. From now on all plants entering get a 2 month veg. This sucker filled up so fast. For once I'm doing almost everything right. Still would like a NPK testing kit so I can keep levels even without pimping and dumping. It's all guess work atm.

For anyone interested my next project will involve building two flower rooms. Each holding 3 plants due to 6 plant flowering limit. When the lights go out on one, the lights come on the other. This will supply my commercial building with heat lol.. Idk all the size details or what grow systems I'll build. All I know is I will heat a massive stone building with it. I think using hids for heating will be cheaper than buying leds and adding a massive furnace. Just seems counter productive. If there's one thing building and operating this system has showed me.. I can do wtf ever I want

For the Record these were dry Seeds 3 months ago. . . 6 plants, 4x8, 2 1000w HIDS. Cheap seeds, cheap everything honestly. Lights were 180 per, fan 200, pumps 50, heater 50, buckets 100, bulkheads 70, piping/gaskets 20, tubing and connectors 50, nutrients for one full harvest, 150$ in nuts per grow roughly. Og Kush, Sour Diesel, Blue Dream, Girl Scout Cookies, Northern lights, Jack Herer

I cut the hell out of the roots, super crop them, overall transplant and with all that stress, they never flinched.

Veg
Calmag, Flora trio, hydroguard
Flower
Silica blast, calmag, flora trio, massive, hydroguard.

Water Temps 72-73F, Lights on max within 2 weeks in system, scrogged canopy roughly 4ft from lights in both systems when flipped/transplanted.

Custom Built fallponics 6 plant hydro transplant system

Best yield thus far was last grow. 1 plant got about 12 dried cured ozs of the best weed ive ever had, took 3.5 months from seed to harvest. Figured id add some numbers.

Pumped out 90% added 55gallons of RO. Nutrients to 400ppm, massive to 600ppm.

My dumb ass bought more silica blast, hydroguard and some ph calibration solution... And I have been looking for the silica now for over a week.. I lost it lol.. And he confirmed he sold it to me.. So we didn't add it this time..

12/12 Dec 21st.

What kind of lighting should I add to take good pictures? I was also thinking about adding some led strips in there since they never get light burn and stretch so much.

Looking awesome amigo.

As for lighting i have no idea, but i know others will chime in who take wicked pics of their heads.
  • 😉

Just experiment, dim lights, go in with an led or something else, enhance the pics in whatever you use on your PC, etc.😉

Temps got cold outside, had to take out the window ac so I could shut the windows. Res Temps got down to 68 with my 200w heater not keeping up. Now the Temps are 75 lol.. So I'm trying to figure this shit out. Other than that all is well. Not really the biggest of issues but still an issue.

Clones are doing fine, will start from seed or use 2 month old cones next time to start.

Last grow I had problems. All are corrected now.

I revegged half the tent. - fixed all light leaks.

I ran then out of feed a few times. - making a fresh batch ever 10 days now.

Water Temps were suppose to be 72f but at night the temp would drop making it 68 in the am when lights came on. Took all day to heat up. - Now the window ac is out, res Temps stay at room temp, which is 72 :)

I ran out of Massive last grow. - I still have 9 liters lol.. Won't happen this grow.

I also vegged 1.5 months last grow and had lots of dead space due to small plants. - This grow was 2 month veg and they are all about the same height. Looks like I should at least get twice the amount when compared to my last grow.

Current issues are...oh wait.. There are none. :)

What upgrades do you all suggest next?
