Hey Everyone,
Brand new grower here attempting for the first time. I am slowly putting together a grow room and gathering supplies, reading and watching every piece of info I can get my hands on.
I’m wondering, what is that bit of advice you would have told yourself starting out? Or what is that invaluable piece of equipment that makes all the difference in your grow?
What’s everyone’s favorite nutrients you just have to have on hand ??

Ph meter definitely to have the correct range for water is A MUST you would also want something that monitors your temp and humidity in your tent , next is good air circulation and ventilation so a few clip on fans and a in-line fan with carbon filter to mask smell and to exchange the fresh air inside get a 5 gal bucket for water and if you want it’s not necessary but an aerator for the water to keep it oxygenated and to help it dechlorinage faster I’m new aswell but just sharing tips I learned so far feel free to follow my grow log I’m here to help and to get help as well were all growmies together and this community is the best and most friendly I’ve ever stumbled upon 💯🤟🏼

It all is.everything plays a roll to grow successfully.theres threads here on this very subject on whats the most important. Light, enviroment genetics, nutes etc..

Exhaust blowing outside the house.

come here and start your grow on the farm..
keep it simple!!!!
pick an easy method.. especially for the first time..
pick a medium that has ph buffers and use organic nutrients (powder or liquid) that way there’s no need to ph or anything, just mix nutrients with water and feed the plants..
put your money into quality lights, this is what will give you the best results either use metal halide and high pressure sodium or LED’s (hlg)..

I’ve been looking into a few different brands and packages of nutrients lately.
Decided to give Happy Frog soil a try, should I stick with their brand of nutrients as well?

Have the intellect to keep it a secret that you grow. Carlos Marcellos said one thing that makes you consider the silence of people. 3 can keep a secret if 2 are dead. That's how serious to keep what you are doing a secret. PH meter is a must grow hydro and you have more control over the results. Water temp is very important and use a 2x2 grow tent that comes with a light and fan. Get a separate 4 inch inline fan and pump air into the tent at floor level the fan and carbon filter will come with a speed control. to slow down the inflow of air use a porous filter over the inlet of the inflow fan along with a dryer sheet. Pipe the outflow fan thru the dryer vent to the exterior. Use a backflow preventer for both the dryer and the inline exhaust fan. Use the 4 part mixed liquid nutrients for your water and use distilled water. Change the water and nutrients every week and adjust for the grow period of the plant. Get all nutrients into water and then set PH at 5.6 to 5.8. Use a good size air stone from Pet Smart with a good $20 pump to keep the water oxygen. Use a website called Grow Doc it will help you every step and has a very good online calculator for VIP measurement to keep you in the sweet spot. Good luck and happy harvest OH. forgot to mention CO2 bag for more weed per grow. It yields another 6 oz per plant. I only grow 1 plant at a time and don't grow while selling any of your harvest. Also don't sell over 1/2 oz at a time then you will stay out of jail and probably way below the radar. Don't sell to anyone YOU don't know. If friends have friends then let them do the handy work.

that is not simple and it’s also time consuming and costly and probably stressful for most first timers..
that method is good when someone can watch over you and help out when issues arise when starting out..

sure, as long as you start and get your advice here from growers who have a similar set up or just know there stuff before reacting to your grow, but you have to be willing to try to learn yourself and research your issue but ask here first if your correct,
that type of thing,
you dig?..
are you starting with seeds or clones?

I have sourced out seeds from a few strains that should be beginner friendly.

Wife just walked in with a T-Shirt on that says "Hold on let me over think this" I will just leave this right here... :)
Been definitely trying to remind myself to take it easy, it’s just a plant and this should be fun. No need to overthink and over complicate things 👍🏻

The one thing I tell people is make sure you can handle the cost of heating and cooling your grow space. If you can't afford the HVAC cost your starting out in a big hole many can't over come. This has been a issue that ends up biting many in the ass.

nah money isn’t an issue for bills.
I think i have everything I need and a good understanding, just a little nervous about getting light height right through different stages and not over feeding.

Unfortunately no. My options are very limited to big name stores like home depot and farm and fleet
The one thing to remember when growing in soil is when you see an issue with the plant you are already a week or two behind the cause. Preventing goes a long way. Good luck, enjoy the new hobby.

Edit: light or watering induced problems are the exception to my above advice. Oh, and temps & humidity, lol. You’ll figure it.

A scale and solo cups, clear & colored. The scale tells you when the seedling is light enough to water and at the end when its dry enough to jar, no guesswork. The solo cups, clear with a drain hole, inside the colored one so you can see the roots and how water moves thru soil (if thats tour medium) without risking algae. Best of luck rookie.

A bag of the happy frog tomato feed (red bag).
A few pinches of the stuff will help freshen up the micorhizzae (which isn't really in the soil that much) and give your roots a boost.
And when you transplant up from the cup. mix a little bit of the stuff into the area. same deal.
When top feeding with the stuff cut the instructions down to 1/3rd.
