I'm a new grower, I decided to go with hydro DWC. After a steep learning curve relating to the ins and outs of hydro I think I'm finally doing great! I'm on here to explain my setup and learn from others.
2x4 tent, four 5 gallon DWC buckets, two WEiCREA MECH1000 LED Grow Lights for Indoor Plants, Samsung LM301H and MEANWELL Driver, two 6 inch fans, one exhaust fan, one intake fan on a cycle.
I am trying to maximize my space and I think I'm doing well with my first grow and learning to SCROG and all.
The other picture with the fake aerogarden is my little clone station as this was free. The four in the middle are my first attempt and success at clones 4/4 using only fresh cut aloe as a rooting agent.
I will come back here when the flowers start to show to see if anyone can help me determine what strain my plants are. Someone gave me seeds they said was given to them from their nephew in Cali and has no idea what they are.

I am open to any grow advice or questions. I am in the first week of flowering.

I should add that I'm doing some cool stuff like not using any air stones! Air is introduced to the system through flooming. Nutes: I am using General Hydroponics Nova line. This is different than their flora series. I also add AGs equivalent of HydroGuard.
I am changing water every 2 weeks, I usually have to add about 1 gallon of fresh water up each bucket every two days. I will only add nutes once if low before the next change.
The last two water changes I had the EC at 1.9-2.0. I do not have a RO water supply, I use Zero water filtered in the clone station as this has a higher risk of pathogens growing, but in the 5 gallon I use city tap water at 220ppm. I was nervous but seems to be going good with no smell in water.

Plants are looking great brother
Thank you!
Feels like the knowledge I gained from trial and error and research is finally paying off. I really wish I knew what the girls were other than some sort of indica it looks like.
This first run was my trial run, as I now have sprouts for my next run that I might run alongside the clones from the no name strain.
The new seedlings are from crop k seeds, I ordered Black Domina as I read this might be one of the best strains to help with my Crohn's and ulcerative colitis.
I did read somewhere that there seeds are not always the correct genetics, but I really hope so. I got 4/5 seeds to sprout which I thought was good success for expensive seeds that I was worried i would mess up.
Attached is an earlier pic showing the new strain with black marker.

welcome to the farm, 1st week of flower you should see some white hairs. Take a close up picture of a branch and we can see if their there. Usually these white hairs are indication of flowers.

Welcome to the farm…

Im assuming mother was a bit cold… seems more than genetic to me
Never gets too cold in the apartment. Made clones using a fresh aloe solution, it was my first time at cloning, I now know how to make a better cut next time.

Yeah I have hairs. I thought it would take a few more weeks to discern from the flower what strain it might be, right?
But if anyone wants I can definitely post some close ups when I get off work.

if all the branches have hairs then their all female. I see some leaves are thin and i think does would be sativa. One of the plant has thicker leaves and that could be a indica. As far as what they are, i wouldn't know. lol!

Cold temps can lead to a phosphorus uptake issue which is one reason they could have purple stems
Interesting, thanks. I never get below 70f however, and inside the tents are 73-75.

I am wondering how I will be able to get the temps to drop enough to bring out the purple on the next run with the black domina. I read that the last two weeks of flowering to have cold temps at lights out to encourage color change when applicable.
What is your opinion on that?

Yeah ao root temps and plant temps are the key. So at 73 you root temps are likely 67-68 and that may be a contributing factor.

To make color pop i drop my temps a bit 2 weeks out and last week plant temps of about 68-70f to make the color pop and preserve the terps, flavonoids and cannabinoids since all are VICs and heat sensitive.

Here was a plant that had a purple expression with a temp drop as it progresses

So 70 is cold enough to make them "pop"? I thought I had to get colder, nice.

Added the pics to the post since i forgot. Yeah its all about plant temps. But cooler temps slow growth so only manipulate them at the end
