Is this fade normal in mid-late flower?

I used to think the same thing until someone mentioned on Rollitup about using foliage pro til harvest. I gave it a shot and found out just how important it was to keep the nitrogen high even in flower. But then again, I also let my coco get BONE dry, and the plants explode. There's a lot of bs info out here, I had to find out the hard way.
I run Gaia green but yes at flip I feed 50/50 grow flower (4-4-4 / 2-8-4) then mid flower feed at 4 weeks I flip to about 80% 2-8-4 but keep about 20% of the 4-4-4 in there that runs out at week 8 of flower if I think she needs another 2 weeks I’d finish with some bloom booster and a few scoops of 2-8-4 to push to the end , defenitly don’t need as much but I keep some N still through flower) (I’m running in peat moss / perlite, also ran same feed in strawberry fields)

How do you grow? Defoliate lollipop?
I let big fans grow so i want high N....but at the end I want low N so I get that fade as the plant uses up all those
complex sugars it stored in the Bank of Leaf through its whole life.
I just lollipop after like the first/second week into stretch...I run coco hempys. 2 gal buckets. I've been meaning to do a tutorial from seed to harvest with mostly "grow" nutrients. But just moved into a new house and had to unfortunately downsize to 2 4x4s which isn't too bad. Lots of people on here give me a lot of flack because of my push for grow nutrients, but instead of talking trash, I suggest they Atleast give it a shot. That harsh taste is from poor drying/curing.

Yep and that's going to work perfectly fine for you because you're using a nutrient that slowly breaks down. I use powder (Maxigrow) with coco, and I highly recommend people use grow Atleast until week 6 flower.

12 weeks on an auto I’d be grabbing a jewelers loop first. She’s near done for sure from the pics she has a def but if you’re about the run through the white tape might as well let her fade into harvest!

I have had a few autos run over 100 days though so best to check.

Only trich shots will tell though!
Ok makes sense. Thank you for this. I think what may have caused its def is ive been using distilled water on this one. So i would water with my nutes one time and then just give plain distilled the next then on the next water i add nutes again ect. Cirrect me if im wrong but i feel like i need to add nutes to distilled water no matter what. Maybe i should just go back to the tap water.

a fade at the end should be because the grower caused it on purpose and they only fade it should have is from decreasing nitrogen..
a perfect example would be most all the fan leaves would be half yellow half green at harvest..
and the harshness from bud is not from nitrogen/nutrient levels, it’s from improper drying and curing..

@GNick55 I don't know who originally posted that graph but it is a GAME CHANGER! On a personal level it was the best bit of info I have picked up from any site. Thanks THC Farmer! So simple, but usually the secret sauce recipe is like that.

Seriously guys take a screen shot then compare NPK's of what you are using to the NPK needs on the graph.

Should be like a light coming on in a dark room!!!

And that’s how it should be done.

Kinda like this.
nice!..
i love it when i time it right!..
if anything the last 2-3 weeks before harvest give it the minimal amount or stop using nitrogen..
you really do want to see a nitrogen fade at the end as too high levels of nitrogen can prolong the ripening of trichomes, affect trichome production and can affect thc levels..
so by seeing a fade you know you’ve giving it the best chance of fully developing., providing everything else was in check..

Imo, I really allows for the plant’s natural flavor markers come through too, and it affects the cured nose of it. that pic was at the end of week 8, I had really started to taper off nitrogen supplements end of week 6. It also ensures the root system clears out the medium.

So much of this is common sense. What happens in nature? Where do more nutrients come from in October? The plant's energy is going towards finishing the fruits, vegetables, seeds, ripening.......not leaves.

At the end of the day, we're producing resin trees. The plant is the thing on which the resin lives. All extracts are extracts of resin, not plant matter (although there may be some other good things from the plant itself, much of which is better for eating than smoking). I think chlorophyll is actually good for us.......but probably not to smoke.

One question would be.......what nutrients are needed to form and maintain healthy, large, potent resin glands? What can we do, add, not add.....to get the most amount of resin? And same goes tor terps, etc....

Look at a place like Hawaii...most plants don't yellow in the fall due to temperatures. So there's that. Lol

Leaves change color because of reduced sunlight, not temperature or nutrition. Well, not nutrition directly. The lack of light directly effects nutrition.

Cut her down today sorry for the poor quality video. Only trimmed big fan leaves off. My dry environment is at 66 Fahrenheit and 50%. I have my exhaust fan on medium and a pole fan aiming at the ground.

Last time i dried i trimmed all the leaves off and hung branch by branch my exhaust was on high along with my pole fan. Dried them in 4 days. Im hoping doing it this way will help me reach that 7-10 day mark.

Lol imagine putting 150 plants in one room that I can outyield with a few monsters. Work smarter, not harder. But then again being a trans father means low IQ. Reeeeeeee
Yeah, I’m not gonna get down in the mud with you. Bless your heart.
