Man, I feel the same way about my old rednose deebo. That dog was my right hand, went everywhere with me, didn’t give 2 shits where we were going just as long as he could roll. Mr Dante sure was a handsome pup, and damn, with those genetics one of a kind…..This was the best dog I ever had in my life. He was my best friend. I got him literally right after I got out of the Army. Sadly he passed away back in 2019. He was a very unique dog - 1/4 Husky, 1/4 Wolf, 1/4 Chocolate Lab and 1/4 Border Collie - 100% aweome.
Rest in peace my dear Mr. Dante. See you again someday, buddy!

I still kick myself in the ass every time I think about it but I made the very stupid decision to have him fixed (wanted to adopt another dog, Humane Society made me prove my current dog was fixed since the dog I adopted was not) and unfortunately don't have any offspring from him. My current husky Angel is very good at communicating. If she's hungry she'll lick her lips, if she wants water and her bowl is empty (rarely) she'll sit next to her water bowl and stare at me. If she wants to go outside, she'll get my attention and then go to the door, point at it with her nose and stare at me. If she wants to play, she'll attack me. If she sees or hears something or someone coming or on my property, she will get my attention and point it out with her nose. Her and Dante were great friends before he passed, and I see a lot of his personality in her all the time. I think it's important to keep dogs associated with each other as life goes on. You know, my wife and I talk about how our old black lab Jackson, and ol deebo character traits have been passed on to our current dogs. its always a pretty sweet reminder when you think back to when the sage older dogs were showing the pups how to be, it sad sometimes, but in all honesty it makes me happy when I see it. Dogs truly are man's best friend. I love animals in general. I like them more than most people, that's for sure!
and love your pets. My house is full of critters, bearded dragons, snakes, cats and dogs. Life would be exponentially more boring without them.
