Back in the day we use to get excited by spinning reflectors, Duel ended HID lighting and the prospect of Plasma bulbs.
Seems all that has died. I'm still a dinosaur using my HPS. One day i will switch but I have never seen buds IRL in front of my eyes grown under CFL that are as good as 1000 watt HPS buds.

Are you running your dream light right now? What is it? If not What is your dream light if money was not of concern?

Great question....thank you for asking...

For my main flower area, I'm currently running a ViparSpectra P2000 on one side, and on the other is my Mh/Hps adjustable 400w - 1000w set-up.....using 400w Mh as of now, the 2nd day of 12/12.....will change to a 400w Hps around week 3ish......depending how I feel...ha...

I wouldn't mind a ViparSpectra P4000 or possibly two ViparSpectra P2500 for the main flower area, then transferring the P2000 to my small veg area.....

Then those lights would be used for an increase of lighting in the new tester flowering area......

Maybe if I plant 🌿 enough pennies, it could happen........

Awesome question.......kinda got me thinking......

I like the ViparSpectra XS2000 and XS1000 lights I've been using for several years. They have performed well. I don't like how they quit offering full dimming capability on the new models.

I am just now installing an AC Infinity Iongrid T22 in my 2x2 tent, so I haven't grown anything with it yet. I like the basic design, which seems ideal for square tents. I'm also interested in using it with a Controller 69 Pro, especially the transition feature that raises and lowers the light level gradually to simulate sunrise and sunset. I'm starting seeds for my next grow now.

This is more along my price range tho. Right now I only have 100w mars hydro that's not dimmable. It brought my babies to germination before they got ate by insects. 😆 I won a spider farmer light tho so I'll be posting reviews on it when I use it.

I made this thread thinking about moving my 4x4 foot tent from HPS to LED. For the price of these lights im happy with my HPS 😁
maybe next year...
I do want to try a modern LED. So, I will get one for my 2x4 tent. Now the problem is findig one that fits. Spyder farm does have two but i cant really tell the difference between the two.
Anyone have a coupon code (more than8%) they are not gonna use they wanna share with me?

Still rocking my HPS, and it's giving me the buds I love. Dream light? Probably one of those fancy new LEDs, but the budget keeps me loyal to the HPS glow LOL

i ll get this one for a 2x4, it's 250W when most others models you'll find for a 2x4 are 200W

2 viparspectra xs1500pro 150w for a total of 300W is another option

there also the g4500 and se4500 from spiderfarmer wich fit in a 2x4 with around 400W each wich i think is a bit too much without C0²

(i m running a spiderfarmer SF2000 200W in a 2x3)

Ouch!!

I'm still using HID lamps too. It's hard to make the jump to LED when there's so many different LED lights to choose from, and with the higher rated lights costing as much as they do.

I've been thinking that two lights in a 2x4 is better if there are only two plants in the tent (which is how I grow). That way, each plant can be under its own light. The only problem with two lights is the crossover at the center when there's more than two plants. I think burning the one in the middle could be a problem.

I got the P2000 for veg just recently, its also not full dimming capable. I keep second guessing my early trials on seedlings, it's either 25% or 50% and I would prefer more adjustment. Should I go closer with 25% or higher at 50%......
