I like fixing cars. I'm pretty decent at it. I've had a lot beaters alot of practice. I'm going to school in August automotive technician. Haines manuals and cheap tools has gotten me pretty far. I want to know what everything does now and make money.
Always a valuable skill to have.

Excellent plan. Do it yesterday. The fact that you enjoy it, is a big thing. But, whooo boy
This new stuff makes me want to fight😂

I live in the the rural mountains, so, half of what anyone does with their time is prepping, one way or the other.

I helped a friend build a huge copper shield for his entire solar rig, which is extensive. Crazy bastard literally doesn’t even use it other than to give it a workout and make sure everything is working. It’s just his EMP backup plan. I keep telling him that none of the shit in his house will work at that point anyways but whatever, it was a fun project :))

I think the only folks capable of rigging an emp are the same folks building faraday cages. And if that’s the case…….wouldnt we just not?

What fun would that be? Ha!

Some advice from a formerly employed mechanic, always keep your tools, and save anything that isn’t broken that can be reused, ie nuts and bolts, washers, brake hardware, that stuff can save your ass in a pinch. Some people are gonna hate on this next statement, but tools and skills will make you money and build your confidence. Toolboxes worth more than the vehicle you drive to work aren’t going to do anything for you besides set you back every payday. I’ve seen mechanics have their wives car repossessed rather than miss a payment on a $50,000 snap on with a matching hutch. As long as your toolbox locks and doesn’t tip over when you have the top drawer open all of the way, you’ll be fine. I’d rather have 30k worth of tools in my thousand dollar remline, than a thousand dollars worth of tools in a thirty thousand dollar snap on.

I bet I could make a really sweet rickshaw out of my snowblower, some crutches, a spool of mechanic wire, an old wheelchair and a hockey stick!!

My 8 year old and I are always dreaming about what we would do if the lights went out for good. What a joy it would be! You know, besides the whole collapse of society and mass death and suffering thing..
Yeah, it’s ok though. Endless televisions for free. End of days? I’m a pilot, butcher, president, vice president, and I would most certainly be playing Madison square garden asap. 🤣 oh and red rocks 🚽

The tool box as large as a 20ft flat bed that you need a second mortgage to buy? Yeah, that insanity. My snap on box was bought back when you it wasn’t sheer insanity yet. tool cart compressor tools, guard all of it with your life. And good lord keep it all. I have 3 5g Homer buckets full of spare fittings alone…..
I know waaaaay too many people that have one, fridge stereo parts washer all built in. 22000? Are you fucking stupid?
