My tent is building up condensation on top of the dehu. Cant figure out what its from. I have 9 fans in my 4x8.

Rh bounces between 66-76

My first thought is the condensation might be caused by the dehumidifier cycling on and off. They produce heat when they run and that would change the air temperature near it. The changing air temperature would change the dew point. When the air is cooled below the dew point, its moisture capacity is reduced, and airborne water vapor will condense to form liquid water (known as dew).

I have sensors in my tents that show the dew point. (My controllers don't, AFAIK.) Here's an example:

Is the area outside the tent really cold? It could be at its dew point.

Outside the tent is 71-73 deg with 60% rh

Ive never tracked dew point. I also monitor with pulse

Here is my graph

The plants are transpiring water vapor every day, more so when the lights are off. With huge nice buddy plants like that you’ll def get some water build up.

Damn Siz, thats a sweet tent set up and nice plants! Years ago I had the same issue. Only thing I could think of was the heat from dehumidifier after the lights went out. I ended up relocating the dehumidifier to the outside of the tent and hooked up a flex pipe to the top tent vent.

Is it a closed loop system? If not what size ventilation are you using?

Possibly a huge to moderate temperature difference from outside the tent and inside... let us know.. nice setup...

This is showing up above the dehumidifier due to the temperature differentials.
Humidifiers work by condensation of extra moisture between the coil and the incoming air, venting excess heat from the compressor.
If your unit vents to the outside of the tent there may be enough of a temperature differential on either side of the wall to cause condensation.
This is most likely your problem.
If it is within the space but close to a wall, the same issue can arise due to that portion of the wall being heated by the exhaust.

Thank you! Ive been testing many setups still trying to fully dial it in!

Ahhh I think it could be my A/C

My a/c blows to the top of that part of the tent. Could it be just that cool spot of it blowing on there and thats the condensation forming?

I dont have the setting on swing so
It blows directly onto the upper tent -__-

I’ll test the swing setting which is basically like oscillating! I appreciate all your guyss help!

Oh yeah the tent is ice cold outside on that spot -___-

Ahhh! Im tight with space I hope the swing works! 🤞

Now my temps are swinging -__-

Any ideas how I can flatted the swings?

Hey Siz, do you you have an exhaust fan? Or just running a few fans inside the tent and a dehumidifier?

Hey Siz, do you you have an exhaust fan? Or just running a few fans inside the tent and a dehumidifier?

here is my full setup:

4x8 ac infinity tent
2 Gavita 1700e pro
Ideal-air dehu 80 pint ( kept inside tent)
6” intake fan w/ carbon filter
8” exhaust fan w/ carbon filter

tent is in a small room with its own A/C.

Ive been chasing my tail trying to solve this. Could it be my dehu is a bit oversized?

Last run I had my dehu setup outside the tent. It worked but was really inefficient, I had to run 2, 100 pint dehu’s for 1 light.

Weird!? Especially with exhaust and intake, room outside the tent is AC cooled.....so maybe dehumidifier is a bit large for that space. Like DR.P.N.W said, its probably so warm blowing directly on a section inside the tent wall/ceiling, and then the much cooler air on the other side of the tent, creates your moisture

Yeah I believe that can be it. It does blow really hard and its directly aimed at the wall of the tent.

Ahhhhh! Maybe I should turn the dehu so the air is blowing into the middle of the canopy? I feel like that would stress the plants out blowing hot and cold air directly on them?

My last case scenario is to pull the dehu outside of the tent again but I lose so much efficiency that way -_____-

That humidity is wild, I don't know. We are missing something here....

I have never ran into the R.H getting any higher than 65% so it was easily dealt with, by using a little 40 pint dehumidifier.
