started in the 1 gallon , obvi that it stretched a little bit , and had helmet head !it’s in FF HF, mixed with some perlite I wound say 15% . It’s in the tent with another grow I got going on so the lights are at 65%. It was growing just fine but it seems to change color a bit , straight water starting off then a compost tea with some fish fert. Seemed fine the days after the tea , but recently just caught my eye about the details it has ! Can anyone lend some knowledge, teach me some i still don’t know ? Overreacting? Reacting just enough lol ? Still new to this !

Light is to far away,, too much stretch on the plants stem.
Your putting the seed into a hot grow medium .
Plain old Dirt works ......

Growing container for seedling too large, you want it to grow into its container spreading its roots and then repot up until your final flowering container. I start with a solo cup, move up to a half gal, then a 1 gal, then a 3 gal, then a 5 gal.

Ferts aren’t needed as others have mentioned for at least the first few weeks, seeds have all the nutes they need for the first few weeks of life already stored in them. Also Happy Frog is what’s known as a hot soil which has nutes packed in already and will lead to nutrient toxicity in your seedling.

I HATE fabric pots. I know this is preference, but mine don’t get the same drainage or dry out as when I use a plastic pot/bucket with drilled out holes.

Best practice for now, would be to transplant very gently taking extreme care of the taproot into a regular soil without additives and let it ride for a few weeks, then pot up into happy frog.

Also, for seedlings you will want a relatively wet RH (I like around 75%)

Also since you are new to this, I would recommend looking up how to water your plants. It sounds like a simple task, but there’s more to it than meets the eye. You have likely heard of over and under watering, and thought oh I won’t drown my soil it’s okay. This actually refers to the frequency (how often) you water. The best practice is to water until you see runoff (water running out of holes in bottom of container) and then to allow your soil to dry out before watering again.

You can gauge this in different ways.
Some will stick their finger an inch down in the soil to see if it’s moist or not, dry for an inch you’re usually good.
Others will get to know how heavy their plant and container is, and then use that to know if it’s heavy it doesn’t need watered yet. Personally, I just wait for the plant to tell me with her leaves. You will notice they droop slightly when the plant gets thirsty. All methods work and none really work better than the others.

Realistically, being new you will make mistakes and you will have to fight problems, but learning how to do that and pushing through is what will make you a great grower and you will have more pride in your work.

All the best and good luck with your grow!

I go from a solo to a 7 gallon and have monster roots, it's all depending on your ability to water properly. Makes no difference if you up pot or any of that.

Seedlings never need fertilizer.
Didn’t give it fertilizer till 3 weeks after it sprouted, and it took almost a week to sprout should’ve been more clear , so 4 weeks in total = one month , not sure if this is still a seedling but ahhh I see where you’re going with this one , next time add more input bro me no cavemen me speak English ok lol hahah

Yeah I was experimenting with this one , I do have one in a cup grew much more efficient than this , I wanted to see if a 1gal is so to much , and it’s obviously showing results that it is , I do garden and water my regular plants on a Daily so I’m not new when it comes to watering but I am new when it comes to watering cannabis so I see what you mean there ! It’s definitely more of a take notice and mark every detail when you water cannabis then just spraying them down , I want to make mistakes and know how to correct them , reason why I started this one in a 1gal ! As for fabric , you’re right more of a personal choice, hasn’t steered me wrong yet but we have yet to see , hopefully I can correct this , if not transplant and try to save her , if not oh well I live and learn , certainly don’t lose any sleep over it lol

It’s a seedling until it has a set of true leaves

Your roots will definitely spread more evenly if you transplant in segments buddy. Doesn’t mean it’s necessary, but it certainly helps

I’m not sure if we looking at same pictures, nor do I want to be rude buddy, but just take another look maybe we both have two different definitions on “true leaves”?!

True leaves are the leaves that grow resembling future leaves. So once they have more than one finger each. We’re definitely looking at the same pic

Your plants look great and obviously what you do works for you, but please don’t discredit other peoples methods.
I'm not discrediting anything, it is just untrue that up potting gives you bigger roots than other methods, grow medium is the biggest factor. ✌️

I water with a spray bottle for this first 3 weeks or so. They don't need much at first. If you pour water in it is only going to run right past the roots to the bottom of the container and won't moisten the soil where it is needed most and will take longer to dry out. Neither is ideal.

Seedlings have enough food only until their cotyledons die back, that’s the nute reservoir, after that its power is all photosynthesis and soil nutes. Happy Frog is not a hot soil. It has very mild nutes, maybe good for a week or two. Ocean Forest has more nutes, but it’s still not that hot.

Hot soil to me refers to any soil that has additives, regarless of concentration but I agree that OF is a lot hotter than HF, neither are ideal for starting a seed though. OF can get me through veg without very much extra feeding until the last few weeks.

Also yes to the cotyledons, was just explaining that from seed it already has the nutes it needs to start off and go a couple of weeks without any feeding

F*ck it Ima try to bonsai it ! Let’s see how this one goes !

How many times did you dig that seed up? Yeah.
Don’t do that, you end up with helmet heads
