Are my seeds done for?

In fact I use spring water from germ to harvest.
I agree with you on spring water , I sit on top of springs where I live , silver springs Florida Zephyrhills etc and that's where our well gets it's water . They love it , is probably why I have good luck germinating in the first place .. LoL 😂

Dude you chased off the pros. You have them way too wet. I do the same thing with the water bottles. I cut a lot of slices. Never had my medium looking like wet coffee grounds. Cut a bunch of slices in the bottom and don’t water until bone dry if they started. My environment doesn’t like the spray bottle that is the preferred method here. I don’t have humidity so I put them in moist soil. Anything underneath the soil doesn’t need a light and when they pop out you can burn them up with too much light.

Another thing about what you said of the water source being the dehumidifier. My dehumidifier instructions say that the water may contain fungi and bacteria. Another user suggested that his dehumidifier has heavy metals in the water container.

I've never had a seed not pop. I'm a small grower. And, I use a tent, so I'd like germ exactly what I want in my tent. So, if I want 3 plants, I'm not going to germ 6, to get 3. Im going to germ 3, knowing I'll get 3.

absolutely with any of these modern strains everyone should be getting 100% germination and most seedbanks know this or they wouldn’t offer guarantees,. indoor breeding causes a narrow gene pool and weak seedling shells etc etc,..
paper towel method etc is over doing it in germinating these type of seeds,.

Why is that the hermie seeds will fall off the plant and sprout like nothing? But the seed packs will have duds

My germination method:
Bottled spring water in a shot glass on a 80 degree heat source until water warns up.
Drop the seeds in and wait 12-16 hours.
2 paper towels each folded into triangles.
Place 1 on a Tupperware lid and spray with warm spring water on both sides.
Set seeds on paper towel, spray them again.
Spray 2nd paper towel.
Lightly set it on top of seeds so air flow can still get to them.
Within 12 hours they should crack
Another 12 hours they should have a tap root and ready to plant.

I plant my seeds in a clear solo cup so I can check root development. I put clear solo cup in a solid solo cup to keep roots dark.
Solo cups filled with Happy Frog soil.

I use bottled spring water until I transplant, then it's all tap water.

I personally do not use humidity domes, I seem to have issues when I use them.

Run all my nutes at 50% recommend strength, unless plants tell me otherwise.

I've never tested ph, ppm, ppfd, abcdefg and my grows are pretty much trouble free and why I'm bad at helping people identify deficiencies or toxicity because I've never experienced it. I've never experienced it because I keep it simple.

mmmm not to sure what you mean? seed packs have duds?? well i’ve really only grown stuff from Anesia, worldstrongestrains, crop king,. other than stuff from friends,.. going the landrace heirloom route only very soon, probably in 3,4,5 more grows depending if i clone any for a repeat grow.. soo duds?

Have you experienced any issues with Crop King seeds?
I use to buy exclusively from them, it's been about a year and a half now but I've seen some people on the internet recently saying they're no good.
Didn't know if you knew if they went to crap or if it's just people not knowing what they're doing lol.

i grew/bought them once, any other time was me starting them for friends that bought them, but to me i’m sure some of theirs is fine but they are known as crap king for as long as i can remember haha..
worldstrongestrains now their stuff is good, i always got compliments on their stuff, i guess the only reason i haven’t bought from them lately again is because i tried anesia and some of their stuff is great also.. though like i said im going to landrace only, especially for outdoors though indoors i may have to stick with afghan, moroccan landrace strains due to plant size, yield, but outdoors i’ll grow the monster landrace strains!

I'm trying to find Columbian red bud seeds. 1973 that was the best pot around.

To the OP,
I still say ditch the tools but if you insist on using these tools for your grow, maybe you can go about it a little differently.

At first don't use the tools and grow by watching the plants.
When your plants are doing well, take your measurements and use them as a baseline. If you want to try and improve your harvest, you can move away from that baseline but if things start to go wrong, you can adjust back to that baseline.

@Growth you don’t have to ditch the meters, but you really need to learn to read the plants, they will tell you when they are happy or not. I think what @GNick55 was trying to tell you was to not put full trust in meters and tools. I use them to check runoff once a month or so, but I already know about what they will read from experience. Experience is one thing that you can’t buy, you must earn it, OR have rely on someone to share their experience with you, which you were getting but chose to argue with. I get that you want a plug and play by the numbers type of grow, but every plant is different and will have different needs. You shouldn’t be losing that many seeds either, I am not a genius by far and mine germ at near 100%, if not, I KNOW there’s a problem with seeds, which is a rare problem these days. When you ask for help here, you’ll generally get good advice from great growers, nobody wants to jump into an argument when they’re just trying to help you….. good luck.

Well said. I probably use tools less than anyone. Because I know what the plant needs. And, every plant has its own personality. It's a simple, but complex procedure.
Nice tent, quality LED, exhaust & intake fan. Inside circular fan. Keep it simple. Plants know how to grow !
As long as you have the best possible environment, and nutrients, and watering. Stay within the specs, and you should be good.
