It came in some of that there store bought weed, actually. Was down to the last three nugs. One gifted me a magic bean. Maybe the next challenge.

You will never guess what just happened to me.....
I was taking my seed out of the shot glass, over the sink, to put into paper towels and I dropped the seed......
I was like well I guess this is over, meaning the contest because I wasn't about to put my hand into the garbage disposal lol
I looked anyways and it landed right on the lip of the drain/disposal and didn't actually go in!!!!
I could of just started another seed but still, that was close.
We all learned a valuable lesson though, don't do what I did and mess with seeds over the sink

I think you may have just written the opening scene to a new stoner / final destination crossover film!!

OFFICIAL TIMELINE FOR THE 2024 ONE GALLON CHALLENGE!

Start date 8/5
Germ timeline: 8/5 - 8/12 (7 days)
Seedling timeline 8/12-8/26 (14 days)
Veg timeline 8/26 - 9/30 (36 days)

This timeline leaves 92 days from end of veg / start of flower, to new years. Most plants should finish within this timeline. There will be no exact finish date, when all entrants have finished flower the contest will end, we will determine an adequate dry time (most likely 2 weeks) then we will vote on weight and manicured bud appearance last. For the other categories voting can begin when the last plant finishes.

May have a best appearance vote at end of veg as well (best plant shape / most efficient training method etc)

The dates above are final, all entrants must follow the timeline, I will split the final members list into 2 or 3 groups (not dependent on strain or auto / photo I will use a random generator to determine groups) you will be placed in group 1 or group 2,

Mondays and Thursdays will be photo submission date for group 1

Tuesdays and Fridays will be photo submission days for group 2

A designated topic will be created tomorrow for ALL entrants to show their seed / strain a medium / explain your grow and your goals, In one post each, after the initial posts no further comments will be allowed in the photo submission topic all posts besides the photo submissions will be deleted.

An additional category for males will be made if we have any come up during the competition!

This current topic will continue as the chat topic for the contest.

I saw the post go life yesterday for the challenge. I’m still on a bit of a holiday can I join in by the end of the week with the gallon challenge?

So these have done awesome in the past, and haven’t seen anyone bring it up in quite some time. let’s see if we have enough interest in it still to make it fun!. Last one I know about was in 2022 so, let’s see how many are interested!

If we have enough contestants we will start getting a topic ready and set up a submission date

I'm glad I didn't pick this Nanan Bouclou for the contest - it can take up to 17 weeks

@Galgrows @cpurola, mine is not on photo thread either. Most likely Minedin just missed them when compiling names for the photo thread. A lot of replies to sift through in this thread, and a lot of work coordinating on his part.

I am going to drop my submission in the photo thread, as he said it is open for three days, and will update original post daily. It will be easier for him to sort through that thread for participants.

There was a post on 07/31 that said you had to confirm your entry with a post that said "I'M IN" so if you didn't post "I'M IN" between 07/31 and 08/05 then you weren't added to the list.

You have till the 8th to drop a seed and join the challenge. @Mikedin I'm sure will be happy to update the list and add more members!

Nice. Oh as far as lights go, some of you may remember that I won those supplemental lights from @SpiderFarmerLED a few weeks back - this will give me an opportunity to test those out.

Have another question on the rules.
It says no more comments after our initial post of us germinating seeds, so when we make our updated posts each week are we not allowed to post text updates with our pictures saying what we did to the plant such as transplanted on so and so day or added this nutrient on this day or topped on this day, etc?

ok got an update for the magic bean Newty sent to me! “Arriving late” so I think for the sake of the comp I’m going to get a couple regular seeds soaking just in case! I’m still hopeful it’ll get here today or at least by the deadline! I’ll keep you all updated! : )

I've been watching the tracking also, wish they would get it together. I rarely get a package on-time anymore.

I have two Amazon packages- both on the way with parts of tents. 5x5 served by barely alive 4" and two holes in the tent served by me with rests of black out blind and tape to get somehow through start of flowering
One is delayed already 7 days from USA and the other one 4 days from amazon.de
