where is the old school skunk

I have been searching for the old skunk that I smoked in the 90's that smelled like an actual skunk it was so good but I can't find it anywhere I have grown super skunk and other skunk strains but so far not even close to that old skunk strain. I just got a cut of #1 skunk and I'm hopeful this is it but I doubt it. has anybody found the real skunk strain that stinks so good?

yea that's what I thought I think it might be gone forever maybee I should move on and find a new favorite strain but I will never forget the skunk!

Seems to be lost in a sea of genetics . . . It's not one of my ambitions so I'm not fully "in the loop" on skunk, but from what I understand, nobody has it, anymore. Or at least, not publicly available. There are a lot of varieties that come close, though. Hell, even my Northern Lights has a very skunky smell to it, but probably not exactly like what you and everyone else is lookin' for.

Fastbuds has an Auto Skunk that reminds me of the 80s skunk. Great plant to grow also. Greg

Texas Shoreline is very skunky...now you just have to find someone with the real cut or something found from FEM seeds or a BX.

I think Skunk #1 is probably as close as we've got to that funky, skunky, smelly green. I've heard tell of some breeders quietly working on breeding #1 to be more like the stanky ladies of yore...but those are just rumors as far as I know

In the meantime, I like cheese strains. They have the funk (less of the skunky smell though). Sour Diesel is another good option.

It existed in New England as late as the 2010s. I dont have any seeds from back then. idk if I ever found any. Somebody out there must have some. One day I hope to find it again.

You knew it was good when your buddy had a qp vacuum sealed in a backpack in their cars trunk and you could still smell it 20ft from the car lol. I havent seen or smelled anything like it in over a decade at this point.


edit: I have a couple seeds from a vietnam vets personal stash...I know I have the pipes etc...given the age of the container its possible one of those could be it. Probably not, he smoked up until the end, but I dont remember him having anything as good as I did lol. He was using this container during that time period though. If I pop them I'll make a thread. Not going to happen until my current grow is over.

I can remember the Skunks of past......highschool days. Kick'n the hacky sag in the parking lot and burning the Skunk!! Had a very distinct and heavy smell. Haven't came across any in many years. Last 4 years been messing around with Garlic strains as it reminds Me of the oldschool Skunk

Nah there's some with it but they avoid cocky elitist greedy souls it seems. One right in santa cruz in fact ive seen it with my own eyes after loading the logging truck
