Honestly it’s a light that goes on a computer desk, my next step is to buy one of the 300watt/400watt bulbs to go in it. My gf got this tent the other day after I’ve been showing her this lil guy for a little bit now. It was a nice surprise, I e been looking things up and stuff but it’s nice to hear from people who have actually done this

Oh and sorry the light is about 12-20inches away
ok, well i’m sure some growers can help with light choices for the price range you need to stay in,..
well that’s a keeper girlfriend, she’s thoughtful and wants you to be successful..
just hang out as more members will come to your thread..

what tent size is that ?

Usually for a tent size you'll find a range of 2 to 3 models per brand with various size and power output
models with more watt will usually offer a more even light coverage and light dispersion near tent border but you may not use them 100% close to the plants.

here a few of the most used and rather cheap led brand:

spider farmer, viparspectra, hlg, vivosun , ac infinity, mars hydro, phlizon, lumatek

have a look at their officials web site and compare.

they all have their tweaks regarding the spectrum, led layout and whatever, but truth is when it come to comparing the end results with panel equivalent in power you won't see much difference.

( i'm with spider farmer, i like the simplicity of their fixtures and their sf2000 panel have the best dimension for my 2x3 )

(i would avoid mars hydro older models , it's not uncommon some people got some eletrical issue with them, and also i think most new viparspectra models are not all fully dimmable but just with step)

There are gonna be quite a few lights to choose amazon has a full spectrum light 1000 watts for about 50 bucks use banana water tea and coffee grounds once a week when watering you'll be fine until you get somemore money to put into your grow

The brands of panels that @HerbalEdu mentioned are good brands, but you also have small manufacturers who do a very good job like lientec-led small German firm. Its my led pannel .

I have nothing against big firms, but I think it's important to point out that some small ones do as well as big firms.

matter with small new brand is if they don't sell enough fixtures they may close anytime and your warranty might go to the toilet.

that's one of the reason i prefer well established brands

Thank you everyone so far! And the tent is a 2x2 I think! I’ll check some of those brands you guys mentioned for light and I’ll update everyone once I get something!

Yes, I agree with you, I think it's a shame that we don't talk about them enough.

for a 2x2 you'll find 100W 150W and 200W fixtures that will fit in depending brands.

(i would personnaly go with 150W or 200W for a 2x2)

Someone had also said to water it with fish tank water? I haven’t but what are thoughts on that? right now at this point all it’s got has been filtered water

fish and plant do work great together:

but i think you might need a certain amount of fish to pee and poop in the water related to the amount of plants you feed to be real efficient.
