LOVE SPIDERS! I havent seen a lot of the “wolfie” type spiders around lately, TONS of black widows though! Like them too just dont want the kids or wife to get bit so they get the squish : /

We have sooo many spiders, ever since the last few years the winter has been mild the southern spiders are surviving now. We have everything, I've seen a ton and got bit by a mildly venomous one earlier in the year but never saw it in the weeds bit my chest and ran. Had a red ant Bite me but the WORST was a centipede in the dirt. It swelled and hurt like a MF'ER all night. I had ice on it for hours. Black and blue for a bit, but anyways I'll take pictures when I see them, we have some mouse sized ones in the house sometimes or the shed, but they hide under the sink or wherever then move on. They are hunters, not web makers

i thought i got the funnel weaver by the front door in time. But i went to trim the front hedge the other day... and they're everywhere... lmao

I vaguely remember being in some Canna farmer's journal saying "hey you should get rid of that spider before it makes an egg sack, it's a hobo funnel weaver, i'm going to get rid of my funnel spider before it makes a sack right now". Or something to that exact effect.

I thought I was being this proactive helpful garden buddy. But nah .... Naaaaaah.

Heads up, hobo funnel weavers are definitely among the more dangerous of spiders in north america lol. Especially in groups.
