Yeah I know 3 that left Tampa and one staying in Daytona last I saw last night she was a cat 5 at 180mph wind and strengthening, the low front in front of it is feeding it. Last night I heard them say on the weather channel we expect it to weaken if the wind shear is stronger tan we know it is… so was like wait… so you’re depending on the wind shear to slow it, saying you’re hoping it’s higher than it is, but you know already it’s not and it’s not gunna be any stronger…

So they know it won’t slow because the wind shear they are talking about isint there and they know from future models it’s not gunna be there, and are telling people it will?

I used to plot every hurricane for the timing of swell, to see when the surf was gonna be good. There’s so much stuff that can affect the power of a hurricane. When the hurricane sits in one area or moves super slow you get “upwelling “. It’s where the warm surface water is replaced by the cooler water deeper down. Wind shear and steering fronts are just many of the things that cause a hurricane to strengthen or weaken. A cat 3 hurricane is still a fucking nightmare. You can only hope it weakens before landfall. East side of the storm will get the tidal flooding, west or north side will be blowing offshore, making for extreme low tides. Center of the storm is the big indicator. Fingers crossed.

It’s a fucking monster. Andrew tore through Florida, but a much smaller storm. This one is bad

The system here, it’s crazy versatile for scrog system. I’m putting it in bc I am def going to need to control. The height of the plants .

Can you add a second scrog net for support? Maybe use c hooks on your four corners and run more netting.

im not sure i even understand the question. I just layered in em in a way that made sense with the space and random plant sizes. Im intentionaly starving them to keep them slow, and cutting them way back. Im about to move in the middle of a pheno hunt for some breeding runs. Posting them looking like that was for haha's mainly. Im def not showing them off

Been a season for the books though, thats for sure.

What kind of telescope do you have?

100mm APO refractor. Here she is with a Pentax zoom. I spend most of my time with an ES92 degree eyepiece. That beast is freaking luxurious to look through.

tbh, thats not even half in that second picture. Thats only 2 of 10 big girls hanging and on the table. There's 14 plants total counting the little ones.

I still have an entire plant and a part of 2 more that havent even been cut yet

I havent really had any free time in over a week now. Prob got a week left

Had to go look to make sure, but tbh good eye. That's my most potent sativa. Hell it's my most potent plant in general. There's no stoner alive that wouldn't absolutely love the flower that one produces. That one's my white. Came from a commercial breeder in KC called Tammy. I have no idea what it's lineage is.

Yeah that’s the “double cluster” which is my favorite target overall, in a lot of ways. To the naked eye it’s just a little puff that kind of looks like a tiny faint cloud. But damn is it rich in the scope!! Jupiter is my number one but I try to only look at it when it’s within a month of its opposition and the seeing conditions are stellar. I view it maybe 2-4 times a year but when I do, it’s usually an all nighter.

Thursday night is slated to have some of the most transparent skies of the year. I’ll try to get some Veil Nebula photos for you guys :))

I’m totally lower class but I spent like all of my flu stimulus handouts on my telescope and accessories.

The scope was about 1,200 dollars, the mount was about 350 or something but I swapped out some pieces on both the scope and the mount that cost a few hundred more. Then I bought 3 very high quality eyepieces which added up to about a 1,200 dollars. So maybe a bit over 3 grand or something. Not cheap. Thank you government!!

That all being said, one could achieve 80-90% of the view quality that I have for about 1600 dollars. I’m glad to be of assistance if anyone is ever looking to put something together..

I spent close to $300 on a telescope then learned quite quickly that a $300 telescope is still squarely in the "cheap junk" territory when it comes to precision crafted lenses and mirrors lol


Almost bought an $109 on Amazon first. Real glad I didn't. It probably wouldn't have even been usable. Good binoculars would prob have been a better choice then the $300 one let alone a $100 one lmao

yea, remember years ago how they were harkening back to andrew as this giant monster of a storm?

Yea milton is bigger. And Helene was like 4x the size.

Andrew looks cute next to today's hurricanes. That's for sure. Milton went from thunderstorm to cat 5 in like 36 hrs and barely moved 100 miles doing so. Fuck that storm, and Good luck to Florida. Looks like no single part of the state isnt gonna get hit by it. The eye alone is 5x bigger by square mileage then it was this time yesterday. So much for a small wind field on arrival.

Im already letting one friend move in at the new place because his house was essentially washed away by helene along with everything he owns. I have a couple friends in Florida that have both asked if they can come up here to dodge the storm. One decided to stay put and one is on their way here now.

The one who stayed put is 20 mins due north of tampa bay 10 mins from the main coast. Im pretty worried because Helene just gave him dangerous levels of confidence to ride this one out. Most killed by hurricane storm surge are people who gained confidence riding out previous storms.
