and the plant slows down and robs N from wherever it can get it, to

try & survive and reproduce.

Next moon occultation of Venus isn’t until march

No I think that’s Venus, it was very prevalent in the night sky last night, as the evening went on Venus grew further and further away from the moon eventually dipping back below the horizon. Or it could be Saturn. I use a star gazer app on my phone and it has Saturn directly behind the moon and Venus close by to the right currently. It’s 11:06 am eastern time and the app works night or day inside or outside. Here’s a screenshot , the red line is the horizon line.

Some of these environmental responses are incredibly smart. Normally tops will lean toward the light or the direction of the Sun. But when we get the Santa Ana Winds, I have a Durban Poison that turns all of it's tops to face the direction of the wind instead. Right now we are getting Sun from the South and those winds hit us from the North so it's weird to see one plant facing the opposite direction.
