Yeah I hope the buds will swell up more, otherwise I would have a petty harvest lol. This evening I took away some death leaves and try to open up th ebudsites more to the light:

PPM was 640, brought it back to 600 again. Hope the ladies will like it.

Day 65 (from sowing seeds, day 62 since sprouting and 50 days after transplanting from aero to rdwc):

Plants did not drank yesterday, waterlevel stayed the seem. I am a bit at a loss again....Lowered the EC to 0.8, 530 PPM, pH'ed between 6.0 and 6.2:

Unfortunately more bad luck. Just checked one of the growcam's and noticed the mainlight was off. Could not connect anymore to the *shite* Mars Hydro app, spend a whole 30 minutes to get the light back on. Not the first time this happened. At this point I can't recommend any Mars Hydro equipment, unreliable as fuck..... I will keep a close eye to the light to following hours, but this does feel like a big failure....

Surprise, the fucking light won't go out. Firmware won't update, gonna put this light back on a electronic timer, otherwise this shit is useless lol...
Never ever would buy a Mars Hydro light again, the software can't be trusted. Imagine you had precious photo's in your tent and the fucking light won't turn off.... Really dissapointed in Mars Hydro atm....Just a light schedule in an app (being in development myself) how hard can it be?!

When you harvest, you can take a couple days to get everything back working together properly! AND be smoking your own herb 😎

I hope so, at this point I am a bit afraid of losing the whole harvest...

Well you won't lose anything bro......as soon as you chop down.....you have gained!!! Knowledge, experience and some nugs 👊🏼

I have been growing about 25yrs, and still have fuck ups. Constantly changing strains, nutrients, containers, lights, equipment....etc

Not all my plants are in tip top shape man!!

Your one of us now, welcome to the club ! Your grow cherry has been busted.... Its a fun ride, you never know what to expect, nothing makes sense. Growing is more an art form than a science.... (although both play a part)...

I remember my first grow, I thought "this will be easy"... I'll just follow the nutrient directions... Lol, NOPE !

Your grow looks F ing amazing for a first attempt. Hydroponics are a major challenge, and many fail with it. What your pulling off here for a first grow is incredible.

You must admit you came into this a bit overly cocky and confident though right? Let me show these silly old time growers how to do it with all the modern gadgets.... Lol (just busting balls)_

How are the top cola buds looking? Can you view the trichs well?

I am also a first time grower, also in hydro! This dude has a much better grasp than I on it lol He most definitely did well and will do well. Like you said, it's an art form, you have to go through the process. I also went w a big budget, will never look back at that as a bad investment. I can't speak for him, but I'd rather just go balls out right from the get go on a hobby I plan on doing for years.

That being said, I was confident taking on this adventure. If it wasn't for community's like these though, my experience would be more dismal.

Haha yeah, it is certainly a fun hobby. I did a lot of reading/researching upfront but you will always come across multiple challenges. I don't pretend to know everything so I just go with the flow 😎

Tops are looking great, lots of orange haires on it, but they need to fatten up more. At least the plants are drinking again when I lowered the EC to 0.8 yesterday evening. PPM started at 500, went up to 560 just now while the reservoir level has been going down. So that is finally a good sign. It seems these auto's can't handle much nutrients in (R)DWC.

I like to take the same approach when it come to hobbies, If I really like something I will go all in 😋 Hope we both can grow some 🔥

I think galgrows was referring to the trichromes, the "crystal" looking parts. I'm guessing they were asking what they looked like, whether they were clear, milky, or some amber?

I'm sure u will get some 🔥 I initially had 5 in my tent, down to one. Damn genetics fucked up 4, not growing anymore seeds from that source lol

Day 67 (from sowing seeds, day 64 since sprouting and 52 days after transplanting from aero to rdwc):

PPM rose to 570 again, so brought it down to 500 again since the plants seem to stopped drinking today, I still can't wrap my head around it what is wrong. The buds dont start to swell and they are losing more colour the leaves:

Don't konw what to do anymore besides keep lowering EC/PPM values and try to keep everything else the same, bit of a bummer ☹️

Do you have any ready to replace once you harvest?

Not yet. I think harvest is still a few weeks away if the whole situation is still salvable. Still don't understand how they could thrive a few weeks back on EC1.2 and now at 0.7 they won't drink...

Are you able to get a decent close up shot of the buds?

Are you still hitting them with the under canopy lighting?

To me, it looks and sounds like senescence is setting in. If you can get a look at your trichomes you'll get a better idea how far you are from harvest. Looking at RQS they say 30-40 days flower. Given you topped, that puts additional strain on the plant's system. both in terms of healing but then as someone else pointed out, the additional flowers take energy to support. And that isn't even considering the slight genetic variations from seeds. All that impacts the timeframe a bit.

Their site info on these F1's is garbage. XXL yield... What does that mean?!

When I started, no one would sell F1 seeds, they're not considered stabilized yet. The F-number (Filial generation) tells you how stable a strain is.

F1: First-gen cross, great hybrid vigor, but expect high variability in traits (some lean toward one parent, some the other).
F2: More genetic recombination, good for pheno-hunting, but even less predictable than F1.
F3-F5: Selective breeding starts stabilizing traits—less variation, more uniform plants.
F6-F8: Highly stable genetics, meaning plants grow nearly identical every time. Perfect for commercial & medical growers who need consistent potency, yield, and flowering times.

If you want variety and unique phenos, go F1-F3. If you want reliable plants, go F6-F8. An F1 hybrid from a lineage as complex as (Blue Dream × Blueberry × Amnesia Lemon Haze × Black Domina) is likely to be quite heterogeneous, meaning its offspring will express a wide range of phenos due to the diverse genetic background.

I need to practise how to take a picture with a microscope first, these are some close ups from my phone:

Four different tops above.

Thanks for the explanation. They make it sound like the F1 is the most uniform crop and since they started to use the technique with corn in the sixties or seventies, yield went up. I am slowly losing hope these buds fill up more, ppm is at 530 again, EC rose from 0.7 to 0.8 again and they did not drink anywater since this morning... Will lower the EC again to see if they want drink some.
