Agreed, costs are minimal after initial set up.
I'm poor and had to piece shit together for
over at least a year before starting up from
scratch after all these years. (I could have
started much sooner & cheaper with soil
and smaller everything, but I knew the hydro
setup I wanted & waited until I had it mostly
together) I believe tho that a grow is never
truly 100% complete.

I'd say my costs are higher than that, I'll have
to get a couple cycles in to see. 🤜 🤓 💨
im just running two 32x32 tents with a couple 65-95w pannels each. And a couple 5000k shop light fixtures for veg.

Pretty sure all of my lights and tents/hvac equipment for the three setups, as it sits, was $300 or so.

But i also spent a long time buying lots of different stuff, using lots of different grow methods, and learning from a commercial growing world that i didnt have to spend money to experience, they actually payed me to be there lol.

I also have the pratical knowledge and hans on skills to repair and servce all of my own equipment, analog or digital either one. And that free's up a whole world of cheap stuff i can reliably operate with.

The only real difference between a cheap ebay panel thats $80 and has samsung diodes at 2.8umol and a high end brand with the same diodes and wattage output, is just the quality of things like the filter capacitors and rectifier bridge in the driver, which is just a small arrangement of diodes. Quality caps cost like $3, and quality diodes cost like 25 cents. Beyond that really the only difference is feature set not performance.

Whn you stack a bunch of things like that on top of each other in regard to all subject matter that meet each other in relation to "growing cannabis" you can save absurd amounts of money across the board. Even things like running your veg light cycle mostly at night can benefit your electricity consumption in all aspects of your home power draw not just growing.

I mix my own soils by screening cheap potting soils that cost like $5-8 for several cubic foot to remove the junk, then ill cut it 50/50 with coir or peat ( usually coir that costs like $3 per 5 gallon bucket full) and then just treat with perlite or fine pumice til im satisficed with its field capacity of water retention. Google "soil field capacity" for a rabbit hole of learning btw.

The soil in tent two (if it was all my usual mix, some is hand me down unused ocean forest from a friend), under about 180w of light, cost me about $12-13 for 10-12 gallons. Expecting close to a lb. Have used about $10-12 of dry nutrients.

i can go on and on about where i save money growing cannabis. For outdoors, i get to know the nearest farms with goats. No one has yet refused the shoveling of some pens for some free fertilizer. I source natural flood plame loam from natural streams and collect it myself lol. I use fine pumice stone over perlite outdoors so i can screen it and keep it after the grow and use it following season. Ill use light soil acidifiers to release naturally accumulated silicates and calcium from the clays and shells already there if its present instead of going through 3 bottles of some formula through a season. etc etc.

Oh believe me I’ve looked at it haha but at $90 a cu. Ft its damn pricey, looks like it’s worth it but I still have a bag of EWC (Coast of Maine) I gotta use up

Seeing as I’m not using as much in the large pots as they each have about 40-50 worms between red wigglers and nightcrawlers to make their own

But I do plan to give it a go soon!
A little bit goes a long way because the bugs multiply over time, it's packed with nutes too. Look at the build a soil video comparison with testing between all their worm castings and it's absurd the nutrients values alone not considering predator bugs and worms etc....

best bud pic ive gotten yet

@Thatoneguyyouknow_

I already forgot and I can’t find your post in here. What did you say flower time expected on the pb2 and special queen?

I remember when these plants looked like itty bitty babies for what seemed like 2-3 weeks then KaBoom tent filled looks awesome Mike they have certainly found their footing 👍
1000% Lets go brother!
Thanks guys haha. Tell me about it, it’s crazy how quick they move once they root in, I was kinda wondering what was going on at first, quickly realized they were feeling out their root zone, finding the limits etc, I gotta say, these plants really do shape to their root structure, this pot is wider than it is deep currently, 24” wide and 18” deep and it really shows in the plant structure, when you realize these plants were only topped once, and they a spread out as much as they did in the time they had, it’s actually insane,

Transplant day was Feb 7th so coming up to 6 weeks since transplant day, on the 21st they go to 14/10 then Monday (or over the weekend) to 12/12

Work smarter not harder can never be stated enough!

One would think that with the passing of Jerry and time in general that the population of Deadheads would be down to a couple of dozen people living in the woods and eating psychedelics all day. Quite the opposite happened. I think there are probably more supporters now than ever. Bobby and Jerry did sing something about a long strange trip… 🤣
This song says it all:

So I’ve used the wiggle worm, brut and coast of Maine, I’ve found I’ve had the best plant responses from the coast of Maine, the podcast I watched last night with Jeremy on it said that the Coast of Maine was the best east coast option for EWC, funny cus I’ve been using it for years

I also really like their dry amendment line

Lobster /crustacean meal (very sparingly this shit is super strong)
Fish bone meal
Kelp meal

They also make a stonington blend, great stuff for veg, and does great in the vegetable garden and all are about $17 locally to buy them (Amazon has them for $28 for the same bags I get locally)

These added in with Gaia 4-4-4 and 2-8-4, some EWC, azomite, and you’re pretty much set to run through flower no problem

And most of these amendments will last MULTIPLE runs, most top dresses are about 3tbs of each once every 3-4 weeks (10-12tbs each of Gaia depending on pot size)

No controller with these mats. Don’t remember what I bought, Whatever it was, it came with two free heat mats. Gotta say They’ve been helpful 👍🤓✌️💨
I won my 2 here like 2 years ago in a giveaway I’ve used them every time I start seedlings but never was able to control the temp to reduce water evaporation rates

I know this is gotta a be a little fishy right? But how bad we talking? Like plug your knows stinky in stinkier out!?😂 im afraid to be using to much of the fishy smelly stuff because of the bears!

we were chatting about dry amendments on another thread not in depth and not at length but I was telling you I got a place with a nice selection of raw amendments bulk! well! when i went to go grab this promix stuff and perlite yesterday, it was all gone! dude said the state made him get rid of it, he was not allowed to sell open bulk amendments like that anymore (mind you there might be hoops/red tape he doesnt want to go through to get it back) and he’s going to stop the promix stuff also as he gets that stuff from Canada LOL! im going to try and go down there with the truck and come up on to much medium! 🤣 he also has a shit ton of the Gaia green rock dust or whatever they do! so ill try and score a ton of that!

Why not convert an old fridge to an earthworm farm Ive seen DIY videos on YouTube. Constant year round supply of ewc’s.

Hey FM! : ) yeah im rocking the Green leaf line of mega 1 part, sweet candy, and the PK booster, im looking at getting the Cal-Mag the offer as well! I also use fox farm calmag and the sea kelp along with “natures brix” that i think is like sugar and carbs and stuff? I’d have to check it out lol. I just know its a little extra something that isn’t too heavy on the “hot nutes” if you will and more on the “homeopathic” side HAHAha (again dont quote me on that, ill have to check)

But “the line” im referring to is Gaia Green All Purpose 4-4-4 and the Power Bloom 2-8-4. And with those two im looking at adding their Glacial Rock dust. So far all my vegging plants are REALLY self regulating and healthy looking! : ) the flower side I think I shorted them with the PB so I’ve been supplementing HARD with the 1 part to catch up and then the bush doctor cal mag to (hopefully maintain throughout flower)
Gaia Green mate!
