I’ve only seen a few bobcats, but like mountain lions, their forearms are something to behold! Once they latch onto you, you’re not getting away! Yeah, who knows how many times they’ve been watching us! And bobcats need to be built! Taking on a jack rabbit isn’t quite like taking on a little bunny rabbit! Lol! More like a small kangaroo!Yeah man I’ve been all over out there too! Wonder how many times, I’ve just not seen one? Hahahaha!no joke when we back pack our kids aren’t allowed more than 7-10 feet away, when things are heavily wooded or there’s outcroppings lol.
I still think I want to see one though out there lol! I’m sure I’d piss myself but man how cool it would be to see!
I’ve seen a bobcat though! Thought it was a medium sized dog from a distance. Very beautiful!
Had a buddy look into getting one for a pet!… that’s all he did hahaha!I’ve only seen a few bobcats, but like mountain lions, their forearms are something to behold! Once they latch onto you, you’re not getting away! Yeah, who knows how many times they’ve been watching us!
Other than being dumb, it’s probably illegal!!Had a buddy look into getting one for a pet!… that’s all he did hahaha!
Oh for sure! You need all sorts of licensures for that kind of stuff!Other than being dumb, it’s probably illegal!!
Them wardens and rangers are no nonsense having folk when it comes to the forest and animals. We’ve done coffee with the first responders and stuff, some of the coolest folks to chat with, but man don’t ever be on the wrong end of that! When I was in high school, my buddy found a hawk dead and cut off his claws and hung them on his rearview mirror! We were out, cruising the grizzly Island wildlife sanctuary to go fishing! A warden pulled us over, and saw those claws, and had a conniption! He reamed my buddies ass up one side and down the other! But at least he didn’t write him up! Wardens take that kind of shit very seriously! Lol! My buddy was shaking like a quaking aspen for a half hour after that reaming!![]()
Twice I've had the pleasure of watching them stalk deer. They get real dark on the move and ghostly. Coming across any predator or big game is always the highlight of our day up hereGot a couple buddies at my place!View attachment 2444118
Yeah, you’re up there! When you pack in glacier, you have to hang all kinds of bells and make a bunch of noise while you’re hiking! Sound like a Tibetan street festival coming up the trail!Twice I've had the pleasure of watching them stalk deer. They get real dark on the move and ghostly. I spent many days "out" alone looking. Never once did I have an encounter. Many many stories here bro! One time coming back from Helena a sow and two cubs ran across Hwy 12 in front of us. I hesitated enough to get a good visual. Nothing bad happened to us that day. It was a place they never should have been. Our first encounter with a grizzly. A large wild fire was burning a ways off so I think she was fleeing. Pretty spiritual and I felt blessedYeah, you’re up there! The transistor radioWhen I was growing dope back in the day up in southern Oregon on the edge of the kalmiopsis wilderness area! I had to kill two black bears that were getting into my shit! A regret that I will take to my grave with me! That’s one of the reasons I gave it up! If you have to go out into wildlife territory and kill them to get it done something just isn’t right! Didn’t sit well with me! They tore the hell out of my 8 x 10 Hillary tent! And got into my food! I got resupplied once a month! And no car and about 15 miles from the nearest town! That summer, I learned a lot about the effect of loneliness on a human critter!I had a transistor radio! No signal during the day but at night I could get a skip! It was KDawn out of Vegas! The Lee, Pete Sports show was my savior! You can Google his name!
but it was only for a few hours!

️ late at night. I really relate to your post. Took me a long time to come out of the Wild. Moose
like me and I do real good in total solitude. I could do a 20 mile round trip fishing on a stream and never see anyone. Running around in a loin cloth. Howling with the wolves. Grand Advenure!! Thanks for stirring the memories brother
