January we got hit with 100mph bone dry winds a month and a half into flowering but I still got a decent winter harvest with the chop in March.

Hard day today but the plants didn't add to the pain

Roma tomato clones

Maybe a week to root. Roma's are determinate, meaning they set their fruit and that's it, they die off, unlike the indeterminate tomatoes that continue to grow and produce more fruit. Hey, I didn't name the damn things but the cool thing here is you can clone them but only before they start to set fruit so this one's done

Roma's are unique in that they produce fruit that is perfect for tomato paste and tomato sauce as they're meaty with few seeds.

We plant to can tomato paste and tomato sauce, go figure

Anyway, this is the first time I've cloned Roma's

Just finishing up in the greenhouse. Outside are 2 GDP's 3 weeks from harvest, and it's only June

3 more weeks. That red one is dank grapes. I think I'm in love

These 2 just started on 1/4 strength Master Blend after a week of H2O

These 3 have another few days of water.

Looks like they are taking after they're sative roots with those thin leaves. It's still early but who knows. And when I look at BBHP

Can't wait to see what I got.

Adapting to my environment

Up today early and in front of the TV. I watch 2 programs in the early AM Dragnet and Adam12.
Love old tv more than new tv. Today out of 4 shows they had 2 stories about Marijuana.
One was Joe Friday in front of a buch of highschool students pretty much running the " grass is bad " comedy hour. Bunch of lies we know are untrue. Of course 1/2 the class agrees and the ones who dont are dirty kids from the wrong side of the street portrayed as minithugs.
The second was a pot bust that seemed to be a reasonable attempt to balance the subject. They let the arrested guy talk about how socioty is changing and soon pot will be legal and then the story ends with our boys busting up a pot party with everybody so obviously not high but pretending to be more high than I have every been. The same guy and his wife with some friends. The husband askes the stoned mom where the baby was. End of the story mom got too high and the baby drowened in the tub during a bath. Such propaganda. Even now with so many states leagalizing you are still not seeing cannabis in a positve light. A recent show Last Man Standing does have a second line story about Cannabis but it still is not in a positive light.
Slowly we are getting there.

My honeydo list is getting a veto. Our kitchen overhaul is coming around and I am vetoing a task.
For thirty years I have put drawer liners in the kitchen. They always wind up smashed into the back of the drawer. Well no more
Cutting to fit press board with a bright white lucite finish that's removable, cleanable and will not walk around in the drawer.
Now for some of my awesome 1/4 inch carpentry skills. If you measure and cut wood you know what I am talking about.
Seriously I would rather weld something or machine something than saw wood.
Please let me chase down a parasite load killing a battery on a huge motorhome than cut wood.

Idk my dad was big into woodworking when I was a kid and he made some amazing furniture and stuff. One thing he always taught me, measure three times (not twice) and cut once. Also take note of the thickness of your blade because exactly that much will "disappear" every time you make a cut. Yeah, woodworking isn't for everyone, it takes a LOT of patience and practice.

I'm pretty proud of my homemade NFT hydro channels that I made out of 1/2 inch plywood. They're approximately 8 inches wide, 6 inches tall and 8ft long, each with 6, 6 inch holes for net pots, lined them with some thick black plastic (like 6 mil thickness I believe) with a little silicone to hold the plastic liners in place, and wood screws holding them together.

I'm also a huge fan of making jigs to get uniform cuts for things that require symmetry like furniture and cabinets. Might take a little longer, to make the jig, but it will save you a lot of headaches in the end!

The Kratky Method of Hydroponics

I would cover the clear containers with tape or paint or anything that does not let light hit your Kratkys roots.....

As long as you add fresh water/nutes every so often, they should be good.....

Oh yeah.....I am not a professional Kratky grower, but it sure is a fun time!!!!! As long as the temps are within reason.....

And, there are " wet " roots, as well as " dry " roots.....make sure you understand the difference......

Disjointed I think came out before the pandemic, it was a brief series that featured Kathy Bates as an old pot activist who runs a dispensary. Yes it featured stereotypes, most notably the social media influencers aptly named Dank and Dabby, and a dude who works the grow room who talks to the pot plants and they talk back to him. Funny shit. And over on Tubi they produced several episodes of The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers. Then there was Weeds with Mary Louise Parker...
