I'm under way on my first ever grow, and it wasn't planned.

I've got the basics, like a tent, HPS light, buckets, coc coir and nutes, extractor fan and filter, and my plants have been growing.
I don't know if they're growing well, but it seems okay.

I just need some advice really.
The top leaves are beginning to canoe and it's a fight to prevent it.
I've got a wet cloth half over the inlet vent to humidity the tent, but j live in northern England where the humidity is constant anyway, so what's going wrong?

I appreciate it's summer, and my tent is in an apartment, but it should be humid enough for them surely?

Turn your lights down, but outputs too high. If you have leaves that are tacoing or canoeing towards the light what they’re actually doing is your leaves are actively hiding from the light output just because the lights are up high. doesn’t mean that the intensity of the lamp still won’t upset them Pretty soon. The very edges of all your leaves and the tips are gonna start the brown and curl upwards if you don’t turn them lamps down.
Also, not all strains are created the same,
Some like some higher intensity other there is not so much but a general rule that I follow is I don’t go over 40% output on any of my lights in veg. Your height is fine.
I would start by backing your lamps down 10 to 15% at least in order to let your plants relax a bit any damage that has occurred isn’t gonna magically fix itself just monitor new growth and ensure that it doesn’t stay happening

From hiking in general canoed leaves mean thirsty plant plus probable rain... that's how I know I have 30 minutes to find a dry place to wait. I don't know if I'd use metal near soil like that, it smacks of bad electrochemical ju-ju. Otherwise my limited experience tells me just train more and spread that branching. I don't see any deficiency coloring at all... how does your soil test on the 4 tube nutrient kit?

It’s light intensity, to hot , too much output

Off and on. Smelled skunkish brushing up against her. Nose in the bush right now is sort of sweet. Week4 grew this and said it was sweet. I sent a seed to and he took 30 plus cuts, not sure what Is smelled like. I currently have a creeper odor that spreads often at night that wasn’t present with the others. I really can’t describe what it smells like other than it has a long note. What I mean by that you breath deeper to grab the smell.

Its peppery.
With a very fine hint of skunk, earthy.
Distinct ,
I’m actually running more of it now it’s very good. Just not the exact thing that we all have that nose for from back in the day.
It’s there, but it’s very subtle.
Its def rad though.
It’s an absolutely beautiful strain too.
Fades hard. It’ll eat everything you throw at it.

No worries, just letting you know,
Tricky thing about cannabis, bro is that there’s so many different deficiencies or toxicities that look an awful lot like light damage or output or proximity problems regarding your lamps and vice versa, that it can be tricky, super tricky.
Just like the praying leaf thing, praying leaf isn’t necessarily a good thing. if it does it for a prolong period of time after a feed if you leave stand up towards the light and they do that for a couple hours while eventually settling down then you’re fine but if they stay standing up, a lot of people will just assume that that’s a good thing but it’s really not, it’s the plant saying it’s too hot and just like a taco or canoeing leaf the plant is actively trying to hide leaf surface from the light. That’s why it’s staying standing up as opposed to laying down horizontal as an example. There’s 1 million other things that can happen. That kind of masquerade is other issues. You just gotta have the eye for it and that takes time.

The name of the game is root production,
Its not really about what the leaves are up too,
You see alot of cuts with the leaves snipped back. Bc the main focuse for the plant as a cutting is and should be root propegation.
Domes can be used. But in my opinion shouldnt be used. They arent transpiring at a normal rate. Holding moisture in and around the leaves can slow things down.
Like if I see someone using an aquaponics box with one of those big domes that they put over the top of them I usually tell them to just throw that thing out or use it to put bags from The Store in it and save them for later, so you can put cat poop in them and shit
