Well holy crap there are benefits to raised soil well then I guess we will see. When I was living on the prairie farmers that couldn’t afford expensive pivots would flood irrigate using dams and dykes which I thought was pretty cool but it was seen as wasteful by the irrigation district. Hay farmers used it for years with very good results.
