Just a quick shout out to hear from anyone using this discontinued model.
Now replaced with higher wattage xs3000pro model.
I'm somewhat sceptical about this xs2500pro i have. I haven't had much bud density but i realise it could be so many factors aside spectrum/power.
Last try with this model before grabbing a new Migro 4x2 led.
Any thoughts out there?
Have you had solid dense nugs and satisfactory outcome?

I never used that xs but i have a P2500 viparspectra still use it just got done with 3 photoperiods very pleased with it. Had it about 6yrs now. My buds are dense and i'm real pleased with how it grows plants. Strains sometimes are prone to more larffy flowers. My 70/30 indica strains stay pretty dang solid.

Good insight thanks. I did wonder if i just got unlucky with seeds so this time i tried 3 different seed banks!!
WHats the wattage of your p2500? Pretty sure that insight means the xs2500pro has what is needed for density🤔

Nice pics how many wks did those run? I take it first image is harvest day. Great colours

I vegged for about 7wks and once they began to flower 68-74 days. The seeds i bought them from one of our sponser's here.

I'm not familiar with your light but I've never heard anyone say anything negative about the Viparspective brand as a whole. They are considered a good purchase for a home grower on a budget. Don't get that confused with more watts or more money spent. Lights are lights and if it has a spectrum your plants like, it doesn't matter what brand it is.

If you're concerned about low bud density or smaller than expected yields, lets hear your complete grow routine. The more information shared, the better. You may have some opportunities to improve your grows by tweaking a few things. If it were me, I would want a thorough look through what I'm doing prior to investing in a different light. Like I said, light is light. If the spectrum is right for your plants (Viparspectra should be, they use the same LEDs as the more expensive brands), the brand of light you have shouldn't matter.

Let's have a rundown of your routine.

Thanks for the response. The light was a suspect but low on the suspect list.
I think genetics + poor plant structure are more likely culprits now.

So here is my setup;
VS XS 2500 pro
Ac infinity 69a controller with 6" exhaust fan and osc fan.
govvee humidifier with sensor
Large 120x 60 heat mat

From seed. Starting in jiffies then a small plastic cup which i repot twice with good rootballs into final 3.8ltr fabric pots.

Veg temps 25degrees
Vpn 0.9

5 wks veg with topping at 3wks then weaving into a scrognet.

Nutrition is shogun terra grow for veg with calmag regularly as i have soft water.

I try to follow schwazz protocol but i can often get carried away nipping and chopping outside to 2 key schwazzes (start flower and at 20 days)

Feeding 4ml per litre in veg and same flower and using shogun PK as instructed.

Also watering 400 ml a day and feeding every day. Zero burn and they are dry and thirsty every morning.

I have an XS2500. It seems like a good light, to me. It's a nice fit for growing two plants in a 2x4 tent, which is how I've been using it. I have White Widow photos vegging under it now that are a week or two away from being flipped to flower. Last grow was two Zkittles. I also have lights from AC Infinity and HLG.

I presume you mean VPD. If so, that's low for any growth stage past establishment. Flowering should be 1.2 or even higher.

What is your grow medium? If you're in soil, you're watering too frequently and you'll be having some issues down the road sooner than you think. If it's coco, then watering daily is what you should be doing. Different substrates. Different answers ... which one is yours?

That was for Veg.
Good you're liking the xs2500pro. Are you getting density?

Growing in airy soil. Remember i'm using small pots which go wet/dry in 24 hrs.
Not watering too much.

Excuse typo yes vpd.
If you're watering that frequently, its probably time to up pot.
I can't pot up in flower. I selected small pots for fast veg and to avoid plants getting too big. I have 10 in a 2 x 4.
It's a 'SOG scrog schwazz' style grow.

I think small pots are not much an issue if you are available to really keep and eye and make sure they never go thirsty!?

I do think about pot size snd have these thoughts.

Small pots allow 24hr wet dry cycle. That means they are essentially drying out towards last 25% of their watering cycle.

This could be stressing them OR bathing them in oxygen.

So, would bigger pots and 2 day wet dry cycles be better for plant health/stress?

I wonder🤔

Actually, it will become an issue. It's like having a size 11 shoe size and wearing a size 9 shoe. It's tight and you'll lose a lot of leaves as the plant tries to adjust. People do it, but its far from ideal. You're far better off using training methods and not trying to grow too many plants in such a small space. 3 larger plants in that space would likely yield more than 10 small plants with pot restricted feet.

Actually, in soil, I wouldn't use less than a 3 gallon pot size. If you want to water daily, still use a larger pot size but use coco as your medium. It has better drainage qualities and will trap more O2 in the root zone.

Your observations are correct. The container size is stressing your plants.

Could be right but this is much faster than 3 large plants in veg and i dont have the luxury of time. It's def a quandary for me this decision. Maybe i should jump to coco for faster veg with less plants and larger pots.
It's a big step.thanks for the insights. V helpful🙂
