Finally started picking some peppers today. There's so many right now they are sucking the life out of the plants. Trying to adjust the amendments to balance it out and hopefully they can recover before spitting out another round. All I need now is for these tomatoes to ripen and I'll get some salsa going.

Thats awesome! How many beans did you plant in order to get enough for some dip? I figure if i get lucky ill be able to make a little bowl for the kids to laugh at, I mean enjoy with pretzels 🤣
Oh I didn’t plant any lol I traded for some sprouting beans from another vendor. wasn’t a whole lot. wasn’t a lot of hummus either lool

Nothing like busting your ass to grow something you can buy for less than a dollar!🤪

Snap peas in the spring can be incredible. New, small potatoes, garden grown tomatoes, strawberries, peaches that fell off the tree because they were too ripe, picking black cherries while sitting in the tree, honey cut out of the hive with beeswax ... The best I've had has never come from "the store" but store days will do. They don't make memories though.

Been there, done that. 🙂 Nothing like it. Loved it all.
I was hoping the kids would take up the hoe and follow. They did at their respective homes, for 2 years until the battles with pests and disease became too much. I understand. If you don't love it, it becomes a job.

BTW, I walked to the road to get the mail (200' driveway), and saw wild strawberries in the grass. Cool!
Until I tasted one, two, three, absolutely NO taste. Tiny and no taste.
I'll leave them to the critters. LOL

Anything fresh from the garden is way better than bought at the grocery store. Fresh tomatoes vs store bought? Green beans? Anything is better. Time in the garden isn’t work, it’s enjoyable. This whole website is dedicated to growing weed, how much time and effort is dedicated to it? Is it worth it? Some things you can’t put a value on, gardening is one of them.

Did somebody say snap peas? I've got peas and beans for days over here. My wife has been bringing in baskets like this daily for a couple of weeks now and they're just getting started. For my region, this time of the year up into October makes all the offseason efforts so rewarding. And yes I agree with @Leste . It's not work if you enjoy it. I always tell people it just hits different when you smoke the flower or eat the food you've grown yourself. You just can't put a value on it.

I only did pole beans this year. If I knew my third plant was gonna become a male, I would've planted some peppers in its place. The beans are for two reasons. #1 reason... camouflage for the girls. I have a small window in my yard where the plants would be visible from the road. My fence/trulis is 9' high.
#2 ain't nothing better than fresh green beans, fried up with onions and bacon. ( Wife's recipe)

Hopefully the fence is high enough, my one girl is over 6' and yet to get to the stretch period 😂 My neighbor that grows says u can't see them now, that the beans are filling in, so that's good.
Nice having a neighbor that grows, too. We both keep an eye out for onlookers/ thieves. I busted a clown trying to get to my neighbor's plants, last year. Lucky it was me, cause neighbor is x marine, and outcome would have been way worse for the guy, than what he got from me. Just saying 😆

Happy Friday!!!

did some defoliation. I have no idea what I’m doing so if it looks fucked up please lie to me and say it’s great 😂 just sort of snipped everything central to the plant. That should divert energy to the buds on the outer edges right?

First pic is purple pakistani chitral in front, this lil beauty REEKS of skunk like I haven’t smelled in years already and it’s only 8 ins tall !!!!! Back plant is a cluster funk clone. Second pic is original diesel and 3rd pic is the other purple paki. Nothing big but they’ll be about perfect for me. Mother in law gets all the outdoor 😂

We tried Coolapeno this year and color me not f'n impressed. Their skin is very tough, no flavor. So I can't recommend at all. Yours look good. Our bells (green and red) are doing well too.

I'd never heard of a Coolapeno. So it's supposed to taste like a jalapeño but not spicy. Apparently that's not the case. LOL. My wife loves jalapeños so I'll keep her away from those Coolapenos to avoid the letdown. Thanks for that tip.

Can't believe August will be here in a couple of weeks.
Narrowed down my Fall lineup of Autoflowers today.

Here is my outdoor veggie and MJ grow. Everything is planted in straw bales and I have cattle panel hoops to trellis and weave the plants to and through.

Training the MJ with LST clips and pipe cleaners. Spreading each plant out for more colas. This is first year using this method. It’s too windy here to grow like a tree. Last year Helene almost took out my entire grow.
