Enjoy! We've been talking about going to the mountains one night this next week to stargaze. This is the best time of year and no foul weather is on the horizon. So anyway I've been preparing to leave for a 24 hour trip...

on you know who for $10.99. Haven't looked at the night sky yet but can't be any worse than what we got (3 prs of binoculars all expense) but I can attach my phone/camera and then to a real tripod (comes with a little one and a decent case) and check out the sky. If it works I'll take some pictures, if it doesn't I'll send it back.
We don't normally go camping in the summer, just too damn hot but if we rent a cabin we could check in 2ish, get an early dinner at the Noodle House in Ramona and the hangout on the mountain where it's cooler and wait for the sky to light up. We're out of there by noon the next day and hone by 2ish at the latest. Plants will be PISSED![]()

We've been to the desert in March and Bishop in May and many places over the years and the night sky is incredible. Where we live it's a left over neighborhood from the 40's/50's rural hills (a block from Vons and 3 from Walmart but stillOnce you’re able able to get away from light pollution, you can see some really cool stuff flying around. Enjoy your trip![]()
I’m on the crowded, Mid Atlantic, East Coast. We've been to the desert in March and Bishop in May and many places over the years and the night sky is incredible. Where we live it's a left over neighborhood from the 40's/50's rural hills (a block from Vons and 3 from Walmart but still) and we have no streetlights and we all had to chip in to pay to have our street repaved. No HOA, just a dozen neighbors but we can see most objects when they are visible here. Venus was in the South Western sky for a while last year and then the line up was pretty cool but June/July was about the best and clearest times of year here. I'm gonna get ripped while being eaten alive by mosquitoes
