There are several other pattern failures that killed 3 times that amount.
Drive axles breaking on K cars was ignored for years and never addressed. Gm fuel pumps stalling killed a shit load of people like the Honda igniter issue but only the import vehicle was targeted.
Based on safety alone every freaking I beam solid axle vehicle built in the early years should have been removed from highway use.
My brother was a police officer. He worked traffic for a couple and the CJ series was not a safe vehicle in an accident. They exploded on contact over 40 mph and a sideswipe more than likely rolls the vehicle.
When vehicles and systems are found to be defective the system should have been one of repair or elimination of the technology for road use
Unfortunately the primary mover on defective products is through the court systems that have been turned into a profit center for a failing empire.

You guys remember that scene from Goodfellas about shaking down businesses? ICE is over not because it's great but because it's the general mood. These companies are dumping and shitbagging ICE from now on. My brother is an auto engineer and he works with all those idiot sensors that drive people insane. He feels like they at the top simply hate customers so they're lashing out by gimping the designs... and it's not america it's the world. VW diesel scandal fucked with them, Ford eco-boost and flex fuel systems, all that shit was clunky and this is them throwing in the towel. Everyone is looking at mandates.
I did tell him that a total "people's car" with one size fasteners and shit, totally modular for $5k, would make him stupid rich but that's not the "style".

How many people here know that in your owners manual the airbag is recommended for replacement at 10 years? The manufacturers should have gotten together WHEN FORCED BY A GOVERNMENT to install new technology and demanded the replacement at 8 years. The problem is the manufacturers are enemies. Not just the other team all the manufacturers would like to put all of the others out of business. This makes a United front in the face of government overreach impossible.

Here is a good story about " the law "
About 45 years ago a dirt bag was stealing a J3 cub from a municipal grass airstrip. The owner of the vehicle parked his tractor 1/2 way down the strip. The dirt bag ran into the tractor and was injured.
In court it was revealed that with one passenger the J3 cub had to be piloted from the rear seat due to weight and balance issues . This means the cub needs to be turned right and left during takeoff to ensure a view of the forward arc of movement by looking out the doorway.
So out of all the participants, guy who owned plane and guy who steals plane and guys who built plane the reason for the accident was found to be a defective design that did not allow forward view. A room full of our average citizens trying to place blame on a technical issue for a technology that was cutting edge in 1938 is a ridiculous situation.
Think about how smart the average person is and then realize that 1/2 of them are dumber than THAT low benchmark

I can say with 100% certainty, that death is an illusion. Based not only on psychedelics (dmt especially), but on many personal experiences and teachings; too many sources to possibly name... I've been studying the 'Perennial Philosophy' ever since I was surrounded by childhood trauma and teen suicides, starting at 9yrs old, when my gramps took his own life (197o's). I began asking why, and have been asking why ever since, not only about life and death; but about everything. The answers slowly came, but only when I asked sincere enough, often enough and payed attention enough. You see, if you do those 3 things, the Universe the cosmos and the entire *Kosmos will conspire to give you your answers. (*the capital "K" signifies and gives equal footing to the "interior" and 'other' dimensions)

I'm not going to be presumptuous & throw any "you should or shouldn't haves" at anybody, or tell anyone how they should feel, or believe, or that the pain will end (it won't), but what I can tell you, is that it will soften with time and fond memories will out pace the grief.
