Basically same as me. I just add some new in with the old. Honestly I’ve never seen any difference from cheap bricks to the most expensive coco I’ve bought. This stuff here was 26$ for 1.8 cubic feet. But one thing for certain I Love coco I just. Friggen. Love the stuff.

I have seen a lot of people run it no perlite and now o wanna try it lol does it make a huge difference? Obviously you made the switch but is it just for holding more water or do you see better roots or what?

Also I’ve been doing it all with the cheapest ph pen money can’t afford of anyone thinks they can’t do it haha
I like your style, I've used cheap coco bricks and pricey coco perlite buffered bags, the growth I found to be the same, but the cheap stuff when first rinsing lost a lot of sediment bulk and then the rinse and sieve between grows the cheap brick coco lost far greater amounts to fibre breakdown to where it fell through my sieve. My sieve is a two foot round picnic table plate cover for bugs and shit, magical verge offering again. Bags are $25 / 50L, ouch!

25$ for 50L that’s a good price I pay 50$ for this stuff that brick coco you need to rinse it real well has heap of sodium in it then buffer it with cal n mag this stuff is the shit 👍

iF YOUR BUFFERS ARE THE SAME AS SOIL IT'S BASALTIC ROCK DUST AND SOME KIND OF LIME PRODUCT.
Sorry about the caps but I am not retyping lol. Back where I mentioned rinsing soil and capt mentioned losing the buffers, I found a recipe for a fix.

yep and yes, brick coco was for patio toms and peppers in an earthpot and autopots, the good stuff, the buffered coco perlite is for indoor grows. I've used cyco and rootz brands, the cyco I paid $30 per bag but $60 shipping for two bags, the rootz was $25 per bag, but I've just visited my local hydro store for first time so I'll restock from them, though with fibre breakdown, rinse, sieve, buffer, I reclaim 80% or so between grows.

I’m a wasteful bastard n just throw it out my root system fills up the pot pretty well could screen it and re run it I suppose but I think for 100$ a grow it pays for itself

"wasteful bastard" your words, my thoughts,🙂 I take pots out back to lawn, rip stalk, shake, crumble chunks, toss root balls, then everything finer than the sieve dumps into the compost, everything larger gets a further rinse and re-buffer, when I switched to coco I was to toss it out but decided to squeeze every last drop out of the system, working well.

I'm inquisitive, our situation, and weed forum etiquette unknown, ignore question if need be, or, what method do you use? your using 70/30 in plastic or fibre pots? what irrigation, manual or auto? are you aware of autopots? I settled on a.p's after extensive research, I was to rwdc and grabbed the a.p's while configuring a rwdc system but have fallen in love with every aspect of them, and the og idea is home grown, though I love every grower and their methods.

Currently I'm spending a pretty high amount on nutrients. I'm at around 8.50$ per plant, so about 40$ for this run in total. For my small scale grow that is still ok, but imagine having 20-30 plants... But then again you could buy the bigger containers and bottles of nutrients and then the price per run and plant would drop to a couple of bucks per plant, but you'd spend like over 500 for nutes at once.

Now if I would add seed prices... that would add about 10 bucks per plant - so one plant cost's me 18-20 bucks. Then there's the fucking electricity prices, so I suppose overall a single plant is around 50 bucks plus whatever they charge for water... 😂

Honestly once you get it dialed in it, it’s much cheaper and totally worth it 😍

worth it!, you betcha, as with all my hobbies I've recorded every $ input, setup, elec, nutes, all but water, but yet to figure per plant or run. I don't have off peak elec here but my entire setup, propagation and main tent with an aci evo6 is under 500w full whack, with the evo no higher than intensity 7 so far, my green planet nutes are prob my greatest ongoing expense, but crazyformes turned me onto greenleaf nutes, which will be far cheaper, if and when I switch, but as you say, any config, worth it, and that's the enjoyable process let alone the final product.

I just hand water once a day mate works for me used to have a rdwc setup explosive growth but it’s a hassle keeping everything in check I’m in 21 litre fabric pots but gunna get smaller ones for this grow cause I’m growing 6 plants not my normal 3-4👍 I’ve heard good things about them auto pots in veg but some people I’ve seen have trouble in flower? I might automate my watering one day but for now I don’t mind checking on the plants every day anyway👍

thanks for the info, love ya setup choices, I have fabric for mothers, awesome, haven't heard or had flower troubles with autopots and although no need with the res I still get amongst them daily touching and tinkering, and I'm doubting if I'll now switch to alien rwdc, esp after this last run
