Latina Queen unchanged.
Understood. I utilize the North side of the garage. Large garage, cement floor and overshadowed by Eucalyptus trees. Stays about 10F cooler. It is what it is. If you can setup a tent with cruse control to keep the plant at optimum it might be worth it. I'm personally good, satisfied with the garage dry and curing all in the garage, bags, buckets, Folgers containers, just like we did it in the old days![]()
I have one time of year where I can dry around 60 degrees and 60% rh. The fall, which can get thrown off easily by excessive rainy weather. Otherwise Im outside those perimeters for the rest of the year. It is what it is though, too bad best drying season is preceded by hottest months of the year when I struggle to keep the tents below 90 degrees. Ohh well.Understood. Those sealed blue frozen things, two of those defrosting a day have to keep your temps sane... so buy 6 and keep some frozen all the time.I have one time of year where I can dry around 60 degrees and 60% rh. LMFAO The Cure is too GothWell that far back in the day if you were asking me about the cure I'd have said they're too goth and not really my sceneI knew nothing about any of that til I was helping an old timer buddy through a grow when he got terminally sick and that was when he went through it with me, the dry, trimming and curing process. He and his brother grew trees on the Big Island back in the 70's. He even had old pics.
Unfortunately he passed away before I really ever got to pick his brain on the old school sun growing. Oh and he was another one of those assholes with a perfect garage for drying... his house was a half a mile inland from Bolsa Chica.
This community has been my biggest resource for achieving greater harmony in my garden. Yall inspire and nudge me to step outside my comfort zone and try new stupid shit
Some asshole clown even convinced me to make some of my own seeds, WTF bro you mean intentionally?![]()
Not a bad idea I could hang them in pantyhose in between branches and keep a fan in the closet circulating the air. Those sealed blue frozen things, two of those defrosting a day have to keep your temps sane... so buy 6 and keep some frozen all the time.
It's low tech. You can make a water bath radiator too I guess, tons of videos on that. Not a bad idea I could hang them in pantyhose in between branches and keep a fan in the closet circulating the air.
Awe man, I lived in Seal Beach mid 80's. Hung out at Huntington between 18th and 20th mid to late 70's. Going to see shows by the pier at Golden Bear. Fishing all night on HB and Seal's piers. Lots of awesome memories of frying on the beach. Actually passing out before the sun came up while the surfers were enjoying the peace and quite and waking up after the sun was hot and the surfers long goneWell that far back in the day if you were asking me about the cure I'd have said they're too goth and not really my sceneI knew nothing about any of that til I was helping an old timer buddy through a grow when he got terminally sick and that was when he went through it with me, the dry, trimming and curing process. There are drying racks or pretty easy to make dying racks using pantyhose. I'll tell ya what the old growers told me when I was just starting to learn to grow, hang the plants upside down. That was their religious belief, no lie. It was a fking sin not to take the whole plant down and hang it. If it's real hot leave all the leaves on, it'll slow down the dry. Once dry stash it in paper bags and they'll be ready to smoke within a month. We didn't fill jars or burp buckets or bags and some of that smoke was exceptional, especially for the time. Not a bad idea I could hang them in pantyhose in between branches and keep a fan in the closet circulating the air.

The drying curing thing is easy peasy once you do it a few times. Don't jar it before it's time. Always tripple check all jars on days 1-5, if for no other reason to enjoy the transitioning. 10 and 20 and 50 days into cure the smells become even better and the smoke is so much mellower. It's honestly no different than growing. Time, patience and a little common sense.

No, never knew him but here's where there's a million surfersGonna name drop my late buddy because there's a good chance you would have met him. Tony Soriano, a Hawaiian dude who was well known in the local surf crowd and really involved with Surfrider Foundation and the surf museum. Ever hear of Ray Bay Surf Club? That was an inside joke he and another guy started. There was a pretty tight crowd of locals that surfed the San Gabriel River mouth and it was notorious for being infested with stingrays. So Tony had his friend sketch out a logo and he had a bunch of tee shirts printed with the Ray Bay Surf Club logo on it. Then any time someone hobbled out of the water on one leg after getting stung, Tony would follow them out of the water and give them a tee shirt. You had to EARN it!
I didn't earn mine, Tony just gave me one. I got to know a lot of the old time locals down there, Bob the Greek, Rockin Fig (his daughter is running the shop now), Rocky McKinnon, KC, Samoa Joe, Evil Roy Poblano (RIP), all good peeps. Somewhere on my reel of photos I have a Pic from a Christmas party Tony dragged me to at Duke's that just looks like me standing there with a bunch of other old farts until you lean in and recognize their faces from old surfing magazines. Okay screw it I took the time and found the photo. That's Fig peeking into the shot from the far left.![]()

Usually the enemy doesn't drill lmao. Although somewhere I have a picture of a social media post from an afghan on telegram or something basically bitching about having a job when he used to just patrol the mountains and get high all day.In the 80's I had a buddy who lived in the upstairs unit at 8th and Orange. He was from my reserve unit. We were always high AF at drills, you didn't want us going to war for you that's for sure.
