I got them transplanted to 5 gal pots. I had to bring in the Blood Haze inside the cave to cold out in the semi covered out building tents....

It's been awhile since I posted... I've been working on different issues with the cold...which I should be posting on this page. Like I mentioned earlier I had to bring the Blood Haze and Punta inside because of the tents staying in 50's at night. I thought I had that fixed and put them back out.....well today I will be bringing them back in. Back to the drawing board. What I need to do is heat the out building, that way tent heaters are drawing warm air to heat tents....instead of temps in the teens. That will be a project for spring/summer. Enclose the semi enclosed out building....🤣😂🤣😂

Run water pipes in the floor and use a wood stove.

To make any real change will require you to move all that 'stuff'. We just did that with our detached garage, man cave.
Hubby had the ceiling insulated and drywalled, then we insulated the walls and installed board. I believe the weak points would be the 2 garage doors.
Had to take everything down and move it to the center. What a job. Then put it all back. Ugh.
Hubby bought a mini-split and it's working pretty well, even tho' temps outside are in the teens.

My thought is even if I get the outbuilding to say...40 or 50....the tent heaters will be drawing that temperature air ....heating that ...and then into tent....right now whatever heater i have in the outbuilding the heat rises and escapes out the top.

Depending on tent heaters. The ACI thermoforge in a 4x4 on duct fan 4 will give you 7 degrees up and no more.
And way less of you put cold water in your cloudforge.

Find your cheapest energy and heat water with it. Then put water in a non-heat retaining container, in the room. It's "heat battery" for a few hours too. So electric heat, wood, whatever, and it can be a pretty low tech trash made system to work fine.

I see you are going to be getting some of this upcoming severe cold. So I hope whatever you do it's done by this weekend. Even if it's just sealing up those holes.

This is parameters and safety concerns fed to AI. Then I refined it and asked it to recalculate. It's redneck tech and cheap and safe (except water leaks on the floor but you look ok for that. I don't know how I got this font but it's sex on screen.

The “Dual Open-Tank Gravity Loop”

(Boiler → Shed Tank → Return Dump → Back Into Boiler)

This is basically a continuous gravity-fed thermosiphon with open top vessels, which is the safest possible configuration. Everything breathes. Everything vents. Everything dumps.

1) Outdoor Boil Kettle (Open Pot)

  • This is your heat source.
  • Water can be heated to near-boil or full boil — totally fine, because it's OPEN.
  • At the top rim (or just below it), mount a spillway/outflow pipe.

When the water heats and expands, it’ll rise up and spill into the outflow pipe.

No pressure ever forms because it’s literally dumping.

2) Hot Water Free-Dump Into Shed Tank

Your shed tank is also open-top or vented.

  • The hot water from the kettle outflow pipe enters the top of this tank.
  • The tank warms up and radiates heat into the shed.
  • This is your heat battery.

This tank can be steel, stainless, an old water heater with the top cut open, whatever — as long as it’s open.

3) Gravity Out the Bottom of Shed Tank

At the bottom of the shed tank, install a drain/outflow that just drops into your return line.

  • No pump required if the shed tank is higher than the kettle.
  • If not higher, small pump can be used — but not required for the basic idea.

As the shed tank fills from the top, water automatically leaves the bottom.

4) Return Line Free-Dumps Back Into Boil Kettle

Final step:

  • Return line simply dumps back into the open kettle.
  • No valves needed.
  • No pressure risk.
  • If it freezes, it’ll unfreeze and be fine.
  • If it leaks, who cares — you’re outdoors.

You’ve now created a continuous open hydraulic loop.

Does It Circulate?

YES — here’s why:

Hot → Rises → Spills to Shed

Water heated in the kettle expands and rises up the spillway into the shed tank.

Shed Tank → Gravity → Returns

Cold water at the bottom of the shed tank is denser and drops down the return line into the kettle.

Kettle Warm-Up → Repeat

The system stabilizes into a natural circulating thermosiphon with no pressure.

Key Rules So It Works Smoothly

Not complicated, but important:

✔️ Shed tank must be higher than the kettle

Even a foot or two is enough.

✔️ All outflows must be open to air

No caps. No check valves. No anything that traps pressure.

✔️ Outflow from kettle should be near the top

So it only dumps once the water is hot and expanded.

✔️ Return line must dump into kettle ABOVE coil height

You don’t want cold water shocking the coil inlet directly.

✔️ All pipes should slope consistently

Hot line slopes upward.
Cold line slopes downward.
No dips. No pockets.

This System Is Basically:

  • A wood-fired samovar
  • Feeding a passive radiator tank
  • With gravity return
  • All open-air
  • Totally bombproof
  • Legal in any era except the Geneva Convention for being too cozy

If you want, I can draw (ASCII or described) a simple diagram, or give you an upgraded version with:

  • Two radiators
  • Cast-iron baseboard
  • Finned tubes for more heat
  • An optional safety overflow
  • Or a /k/-style greentext build guide
