They used to be one of the cheapest cuts of meat, we would smoke them all the time. Not anymore.Have never done a brisket.
Not buying a $100 piece of meat I can screw up by falling asleep......
I buy a whole cow every couple years,. It's a chunk of cash up front, but once I break it down to the lb. it's thousands in savings. My last cow (900lbs) cost under $3.50 a pound total costs. U can't even buy a pound of cheap 80/20 burger at the store for that. They used to be one of the cheapest cuts of meat, we would smoke them all the time. Not anymore.

You store it for two years??I buy a whole cow every couple years,. It's a chunk of cash up front, but once I break it down to the lb. it's thousands in savings. My last cow (900lbs) cost under $3.50 a pound total costs. U can't even buy a pound of cheap 80/20 burger at the store for that.
No, he eats it over two yearsYou store it for two years??
I think i'm in LoveU don't have to cook the whole thing.
I have them cut in half. I did a whole one, made plans to be up all night to have it ready by next day. Only took 10 hrs. Should have been much longer. I've had a chuck roast take just over 8 hrs to finish ( before I understood how important it is to keeping the lid shut on a smoker)..
The hardest part is watching temp, and when to feed the fire.
Just like growing weed in a tent, it's easy

I say this all the time too. I tell my daughter how inexpensive these cuts used to be. I used to buy flank steak and marinate it 24hrs Italian dressing, brown suger, 3 cloves crushed garlic. Maybe $1 lb. we'd pay. Makes me so mad with today beef or even whole chicken costs. They used to be one of the cheapest cuts of meat, we would smoke them all the time. Not anymore.
I'm calling it a quiche. Mother made them all the time. Some weren't too bad, but most...You've sent me searching and now I want.
