Some trial beans from trades beginning to flower and some of my accidental early outdoor grow almost ready to harvest 😎

Day 40 but it's had 80 light/dark cycles.

PXL 20260422 142450700

I have zero science to back it up but I suggest anyone growing autos give 9/3 light cycles a try. I actually veg my photos this way now to avoid light fatigue and running my equipment for 18 hrs straight.

I started off experimenting with 6/2, and again without any science to back it up, my reasoning for moving to 9/3 was that I'm a big believer in dark periods, and the twice a day cycle seemed to make more sense to me.

I had a flash back so here's one for the old timers? Back in 76 or so, a buddy's super hot, super cool cousin we'll call Debbie, came up from So Cal, I don't recall where, and brought some that she said that it was called "El Primo". She didn't say it's "primo" like good shit primo, she said it was called El Primo. Being a sheltered poor mid westerner I had never heard of it. Anyone know what it was?

My best guess is it was the really nice pine smelling Mexican Sativa that was coming across the border in smaller runs vs the large volume bricks everybody else was getting. It was brought North by the pound, not the ton. The circles I was running with in So Cal were going the opposite direction. The killer weed came from up North and we just used to call it Humboldt. There were also local growers out at the Rincon Indian reservation, people around town in Valley Center and further up the hill on Palomar Mountain who were all growing dank local weed around the same period and it was all about who you knew and it only lasted as long as it took for cops to eventually raid them.... Then it was months of weed drought when somebody got shut down. Good times...

Crazy times, actually but we had weed coming from down south, from up north and from across the seas from Southeast and Central Asia. We really had it going on at the time compared to the majority of the country.

From Thai sticks to hash to sativa to indica and local growers and then skunk from Humboldt. It truly was magical. The past couple decades have given us the seeds to grow just about any strain we can think of and this too is magical.

What a time for pot heads to be alive😉

Could have been but she said it was grown there in So Cal but who knows. She was stunning, it was stunning and I was 16’ish and in love with them both!💚❤️😮‍💨

Be cautious, it will rip the lights faster than just one on and off switch a day.
16/8 with more intensity is what I am going to try out now.

Well there were also some EPIC guerilla runs that were done out in the local national forests, that was hippies before it was gangs. But that's what they were... Runs. Someone either got lucky and moved a shit ton of weed, the grow got found or worse, folks got busted tending to it. If it was a good run, EVERYBODY in Southern California was smoking it at some bongload along the way.

It was one of those flash memories. Mostly had to do with her in her bikini at the lake bitching because it wasn’t the beaches at So Cal. but I’ll leave that there. I do recall her name now though. The bud was awesome too and not something we saw often up there in the mid 70’s. Well at least I didn’t. I thought since some of you are my age or older and from there you have known. No biggy.
