Yeah, more or less! I like to stick a 6 foot bamboo in at a 45° angle to tie off on! That tip will start growing up then you pull it down tie it off and let it grow up and pull it down and tie it off and so on and so forth! Just keep chasing the tip out onto the bamboo! Kind of early! You may wind up with some pretty tall secondaries! There’s a lot of difference between our climates! I did it too early last year and wound up with some tall secondaries that needed support later on in the year to keep the entire plant from capsizing! Lol! With everything growing vertically instead of horizontally, things can get awfully top-heavy!
