wow 10lbers eh??? im guessing you are stacking the 1ks? have you thought about stacking 1500ks?

i have 8k for 5mpb and got 3/4lbers, i cant even imagine having one less plant and them each being 10lbers... my trees are the same size as yours but my colas are a 1/4 the size =(
dd, would love for you to check out my first grow
second round, im off to a much better start. ill have a round 2 thread up in a bit.
will be very happy with 1.5lbers

10 lb x 4 plants is 40 lbs.
40 lbs x 450g/lb = 18000 grams
18000 grams / 8000 watts = 2.25 g/watt

very interested to see this. Also this may be a bit hard to judge, some skeptics may question yield numbers but anyways I'm still interested to see some big trees. Way to put it out there D's

That of course doesn't take into account the power from the air conditioner, I feel you should always factor every unit you're grow uses into those calculations for them to have any meaning.

4 ton of air con in the UK would cane ~5-6kw on it's own, I don't get why you guys don't use air cooled tubes what you lose in light you will gain in reduced leccy usage bothered about the glass robbing light use 1.5kw it'll pay I'm certain.

quick rough calculation 4000btu's * 8 32000btu's basically 3 tonne of that air con runs whilst lights on or 3/4 of 6kw 12/12 in flower which gives us 4.5kw/hour + 10kw/hour for the lights, pumps, fans, chiller so round up to 15 units an hour lights on.

I think 10lbs is 4.54kilos so 18.16 Kilos or 1.2g's/w

g/m3 of course has it's own merits beyond g/kwh.

All calculations should be g/kwh really when dealing with leccy that's how a professional greenhouse growing veg under lights will work.

I love doubleds grows but air conditioning isn't free and efficiencies need to take this into account otherwise it's not a fair comparison of one system over another.

While I'm playing the numbers game let's see if I can guess doubleds g/kwh

2 weeks veg 18/6 * 15 = 1890 units for veg in the main room

9 weeks flower 12/12 *15 =11340 units for an average 9 week strain.

13230 units /18160 g's = 0.72 units/g or

18160/13230 = 1.37 g/kwh which is very very good.

This factors none of veg costs before they go into the main room or any power for night usage.

I assumed that DD ment 10lb from the room not per plant, 10lb per plant is gonna be crazy.

4540's g's from 8kw of light with co2 and 6kw of air con is very poor.

You might as well air breath and triple you g/kwh.

I have never grown a plant bigger than 2.5lb's before so this I'm unsure of the logistics but 40lb's seems a lot to take from 8kw of light without it being a coliseum style grow and 10lb's seems too little.

I would have though more like 16-25lbs in total, real high yielding maybe 30lbs tops.

If my memory serves me right, i think doubleds had a 10 plant room that pulled 42 lbs (yes/no?). Thats a pretty good start... :harvest:

A 3 lb plant is about 6 ft tall and 5 ft round.Going with pure commercial strain Ms walker was 3.4 avg 5' tall 5' wide. Tom Hill had a ten lb outdoor plant that would not fit in my 2 car garage. You pull this off I will buy you a drink while listening to songs written about you.
I would keep them low and wide as my theory is that plant has problems pumping up that many gallons/lbs of nutes. I wish you luck and no equipment problems. JK

I use bare bulbs because it is so much easier than cooltubes, they r basically stuck in one spot and that is never good. I must have a million drill holes in my ceilings from installing eyehooks for lights. I am constantly moving lights around when the plants get big.a/c is great dehumidifying unit also. One of the rooms i visited today is stuck at 65% humidity.... thats with 2 - 5ton a/c units running, 4 - 70 pint dehueys and 1 50 pint. Thats a room with 22 - 3.5 ft avg plants. Imagine if there was no a/c.... it would be 99% for sure.

thanks jk, appreciate it. You definately use a bigger strain than mine. Every picture you have seen of mine have been 3.5 ft tall. Thats the tallest that they can get or they r on the ceiling. My record so far is 5 lbs 7 oz's, it only happened once and i still cant explain it. I have never grown a 5ft, 6ft, 7ft tree indoors b4.... well flowered anyway. my moms get that tall. So i figure if i get to 6ft or 7 ft then that would be the maximum height i would need to accomplish my goal. What i have learned over the last couple of years is there has to be alot of room for root growth. As soon as the roots have completely filled the growing chamber yield stops. I dont know if the 3ft sq containers 50gallon res is enough room for the roots to accomplish my goal or if i have to move up to the 100 gallon res, 48 inch x 48 inch.

we will see, it will be a learning grow for sure.
