First real grow, TX Popcorn

Hi everyone. I started my first grow on the 27th with bagseed from a strain running rampant in Texas right now everyone calls Popcorn. Quality ranges from mid-dank. Germed 12 seeds and hoping for 6 fems. 6 are in Hefty brand 8oz cups and 6 are in 3gal grow bags. Soil being used is FFOF. FF nutes will be added after 2nd week of veg.

My grow area is the water heater nook in my garage. I extended it out 4' and another 4' section to block the front. I left an opening next to the internal garage access 4' wide. It looks like a 4.5'x9'x8' box with a 4' section missing from the 9' side. I'm broke so I improvised the "walls". They are just cardboard boxes I had left over from the move screwed to the existing sheet rock and duct taped together. There's a little spray adhesive in there too. I've got a 1kw hps sun systems ballast and reflector with a EYE Super HPS lamp I got off craigslist for $200. A pedestal fan acts as air flow for the time being.

Here are pics from my first grow done under 2 75w halogen bulbs, and the area I am now growing in.

Well I tried to upload some directly from my computer but it isn't working. I will update this post when I can.

I still can't upload pics. Server keeps timing out every time I try, no matter how many pics I try. I can't pm anyone bc I'm new.

the resolution is crazy high. The largest file size is 2.3mb.

Whatever it is its aight, I just dont see no reason to grow it out. They sell 4gs for $20...now for personal, might do it.

Post them pix. If you go advanced, and go to manage attachments it has a key that tells you just how big your different formats can be.

I also figured that it might be better for me to learn on an inexpensive strain first. That way I don't screw up plants from $80-200 seeds. Thinking about ordering some SSH though. The plant I grew with halogens was 30" high and yielded 5 grams dry lmao.

Like I said, a learning experience.

OH man! LOL I love hearing the TX boys talk about prices in Texas! I am an expat texan.... born and raised. I remember those cheap cheap days. Man CALI is a smokers Dream come true, But these west coast prices will hurt you wallet real fast!

Did not take me long to figure out I had to grow my own or quite smoking.

Never had the balls to grow my own in Txass..
Had to run out here to get it done!

That sux dude. I know what you mean about a hoe ass town with hoe ass prices. I used to live in one or two. I just oven dried the rest of my :harvest: and I am very pleasantly surprised. Even though it was still pretty green the taste and potency were nice. It's almost as good as the ISS I've been getting for the past 2 months. The high is a really nice heady one. Drops off slightly faster than the ISS but not by much. I grew it in MG soil and used the 24-8-16 nutes. I didnt check ph ever, or do anything other than water and, over prune<---oops. I do know that I might just try to keep a clone mommy and maybe make some crosses sometime down the line.

I hear ya FL. My wife and I have talked about moving out west. Hopefully TX will bite the bullet and get some MMJ in the Dirty South. $60 an 1/8 is killing me. So I'm growing my own and nobody knows but you Farmers and my wife. I plan to keep it that way too. Good growing to you man.

Here are some pics finally. Still going to resize the others but these are new. I think I'm seeing deficiencies right off the bat. It looks like there will be almost no internodal spacing at all lol. These are pics of just 3 of the sprouts. The rest are normal looking so far.

Hey Dex, I can't reply to your PM. Still under new user designation. It's pretty frustrating. Here is the reply I tried to send you:

I'm only using the MG nutes right now bc that's what I have. I'm using the FFOF soil for these plants. I'll be picking up some FF nutes next week. The MG nutes are not bad imo though. Everytime I fed with it before my plants seemed to love it.

next time dont plant seedings into big pots. It will take longer for them to grow because it will take longer for tap root to reach bottom and for that little seedling to fill out that entire pot.

Thats why you see on here people start seeds in cups. That way you can transplant, Transplanting is important cause you can see roots and make sure everything is good. Plus plants like to be transplanted, helps them grow faster.

Thank you for the advice. I am actually testing both methods(to see which is easier for me). In between the bags are 2 HEFTY Brand 8oz cups with seedlings in them as well. So far there is no difference.

I saw it FFOF is strong mane. U wont need to feed at all for maybe 3 weeks. Jus water. Ditch the MG, its simple but in the long run trash, made by a trash company, backed by trash people . U wont even need it this run, so u good on that.

Finally got some bud shots of what I grew under the halogens. I cured it about a week after drying it. It smelled delightful. The smell was a lot like that of the Island Sweet Skunk. It was ever so sticky too.

It's been a week since the first 4 plants popped. The first set of pics showed them all looking rather sickly. The faded one's new growth was coming in nasty looking, and a couple others were still deficient in something. So I nuted with FF Grow Big at 2/3 strength for 1 gallon Ph'd to 5.8 and fed all 8 plants from that 1 gallon. The next day they were all much improved. New growth is coming in quickly and I have a feeling I may wind up with some damn decent plants. I just fed them again with 1/2 strength solution using same method as before. I hope you all enjoy the photos even if they are only little baby sprouts.

You want more pics? You got it. I'll go take some now. Apparently you're not supposed to be able to grow under halogens because they're not strong enough I guess. I used the phillips and lg brand 75w full spectrum flood lights. The buds were dank for sure. Just so light and airy because I didn't have enough light for them. Going to take pics now and I'll repost when I am done.

Meh, I'm dumb and left my camera in usb mode all night. The battery is dead. Pics'll have to wait. I'm looking online for some seeds too. My wife has really bad back and hip pain. So I'm up for suggestions on good pain relieving strains. I'm poor so no super expensive suggestions please.

I kind of lied about the halogens light of course I know a bit about em...but for real I have to say you are the first person that Ive seen work w some. Interesting to say the least especially after i saw the product.

...I was looking at your pics earlier though and just wondered if your girls were getting adjusted yet.
